Hyubris - Cançao de Embalar @ Portugal No Coração RTP1

Ekleksays...

Interesting how the clip begins with some technical problems (crackling noise) and a bit lonely keyboard and then finally the other musical layers are added - the voice and then guitars coming in. Conventional folk metal but solidly performed and some nice melodies.

The performance is a bit out of place in the TV studio I think. People are clapping (as if their music is some Schlager) and the presenter sitting with his back to the stage "sings" along.
And at the end the singer dressed in white is congratulated with kisses while the rest of the band dressed in black sheepishly stands behind the two. It may have to do with people/the presenter being surprised about her voice, practical reasons (time limits), she being the vocal lead..etc.

Interesting clip all in all.

edit: the track they posted on MySpace has the same distortion sounds..this MS-track may be a copy of their live performance, because I don't think the noise is deliberate.

BTW the band is still without a label: music industry, where are you?

They are not playing live, it's playback, so I wouldn't really trust the voice of the girl until I heard her singing live.
Also this song is not theirs, it's a cover of a song from Portugal's most famous folk singer who became one of the biggest symbols of the anti-fascist fight and the revolution that overthrew the dictatorship in Portugal in 1974.

^If you say so too, I believe it's playback (the performance was indeed very solid..the noise may be the result of a the tape/PA system)..I saw the "playback" comment at youtube but I wasn't sure if it was true as the comment was downvoted..
Hope her voice is genuine and sounds ok live..there are computer programmes which can alter voices..

Thanks for the original version..I think I like this version better though..

They are currently recording a new album I just read.
