therealblankmansays...At this very moment, the largest high-altitude rescue attempt in American History is going on near this same location on Mt. Hood. It involves several Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters and dozens of rescue climbers and volunteers, all searching for 3 climbers who became trapped during the severe storms of this past week. The video above dates from 4 years ago.
Godspeed, and come home safe.
couplandsays...godspeed, and post some good video.
archchefsays...Is it just me or does the commentator soundreally sarcastic O_O (ohh. pause.. wow, will you look at that, the huge manatee)
Kruposays...Since the question will no doubt come up, according to the Youtube comments, no one died (thank goodness!), which is believable, because there wasn't an explosion and they were already pretty low to the ground when it hit the mountain.
seeknowsagesays...Very neat video, but I hate the commentator.
therealblankmansays...As of Tonight, Sunday Dec 17, 2006, at 21:00 local time searchers have discovered 1 body in a snow cave. The other two climbers are still missing...
therealblankmansays...That's pretty much it. Searches were suspended yesterday afternoon, prior to the latest storms. There is no hope left of finding the remaining 2 missing climbers after 12 days on the mountain. Sad.
