Georgia Students March on University President

Members of the Georgia Students for Public Higher Education student's rights advocacy group directly confronted their university's president for his apparent support of budget cuts and immigration legislation infringing on human rights and the right to an affordable education.

Georgia has been a hotbed of controversial bills following the election of Governer Nathan Deal (R), including the disproportionate defunding of the HOPE scholarship, HB87 (Georgia's own Arizona-style law), and the nonpassage of the Dream Act (allowing a path to citizenship through education or military service).
