Kreegathsays...Hypnotism is poppycock. Apparently it only "works" when the subject wants it to work, which in other words means it's not the hypnotism that does anything but rather the subjects self delusion.
ashes2flamessays...Maybe so .. but the end result is nice. At least for these people.
siftbotsays...Moving this video to ashes2flames's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 3 days.
Trancecoachsays...^That's not entirely true, Kreegath. Hypnosis is a technique that helps to facilitate a change that is otherwise unnoticed or ignored. One can think of hypnosis as a sort of permission of sorts. Most people live in a trance all the time -- hypnosis is a way of breaking that trance and choosing another way of being. In the clip, this man is introduced to the fact that his old ways of being -- the old "games" as it were -- aren't working and are in fact upsetting the very people closest to him, namely, his family. It's good that he was willing to take the hypnotic suggestion. Many people need to be divorced, lose custody of their kids, etc., until they finally break the trance they're in.
(To be sure, this is clearly made for television and not entirely representative of how things might work in the real world. But it could!)
It's quite beautiful actually.
