Senior Project 2012:
My work is inspired by my interactions with nature, specifically water. Being brought up on an island surrounded by nothing but the deep blue sea, water has always been a crucial part of my life. As an islander, the daily need for water means more than just hydration or hygiene. For us, water also means food, transportation, entertainment and more. Although water is a blessing, it isn’t always a good thing. Its inevitable connections to death and disasters such as tsunamis should not be forgotten.

The idea of water having opposing sides, good and bad, inspired me to do a colorful video that portrayed this aspect of water in an abstract manner. I’ve used objects such as colored paper and ink in my attempt to create imaginative visualizations that would address this idea.
