Caesarean section perfomed on a monkey

The poor monkey had been laboring for 24 hours. An ultrasound revealed her three babies were still born inside of her. I'm glad there was some intervention available to her.

It's sad that the prolonged labor cost her the baby monkeys, but at least there was an owner for her that had the means to get her medical treatment normally reserved for humans! I read that her fertility is intact and she'll have more monkeys some day.
