Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar) - Not The Doors Version

"Alabama Song" known by most as a song from the debut self-titled album by The Doors. Many may not know this but it is a cover of a 1927 song that was later used in a 1930 German opera Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny. The oldest "video" that I could find was this 1958 version.

That's Lotte Lenya, famous Austrian/German actress best known to Americans as Rosa Kleb in James Bond movies.

She became a sensation in pre-war Germany for her role in "The Threepenny Opera."

I've heard a lot about her, but that's the first time I ever saw her singing.
