Thanks...came totally out of the blue, have not been sifting much.

Hey... have you ever thought about a filtered view for smartphone users who can only play back YT? I'm on a nexus one...at least for now, have no full-blown flash. Feels like most vids are YT already, but filtering out the non-YT would make time wasting more efficient for mobile users.

Hi- I think this meets criteria for brain... http://www.videosift.com/video/Mihaly-Csikszentmihalyi-Creativity-fulfillment-and-flow
It's one of those videos which is (IMO) very enlightening and useful to all, yet has no obvious fit in any particular category.

Thanks! I noticed you went through your vids to add some to the channel, but you can't use the invocation on your own vids - you have to use the 'modify video details' page to do it. I went back and added a few myself. Some (not all) of the others, though, I'm not so sure about. Basically, any video in the channel should provide some knowledge about how the brain or mind works to produce some particular behavior, as opposed to just demonstrating that behavior. I'm also avoiding social psychology for that reason as well. It's a bit of a tightrope walk - I want the channel to be well focused, but I don't want it to be too narrow.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President .
The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.'
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.
The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle.'
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. 'You know she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong up there, she doesn't know what to do while she is up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put her up there to begin with.

This election is just the funniest, scariest, and most important in the long time.
I mean honestly, can anyone imagine someone like Sarah Palin coming up in any other time?

Cute anti-spam technique:
Easy way to kill most spam on the spot:
- rename the name/link/etc. fields to something weird
- put this in your form:
(Leave these fields blank!)
- put this in the site stylesheet:
div.trap { display: none; visibility: hidden }
Then when processing the form, if there’s anything in the ‘name’ or ‘link’ fields, drop the post. This method alone has cut my spam by about 90-95%. I have no captcha, and no wonky heuristics that are eventually bound to flag legitimate data as spam at some point or another. Just a couple of innocent-looking fields that spambots fill in because they look important.

He addresses Powerpoint specifically - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ5dbUCu2Ug
In reply to this comment by Doc_M:
It's an ad, but it's dang freakin right. There is nothing more valuable than an image when trying to teach a concept or express an idea.
The saying goes:
A picture is worth a thousand words... unless you're Tolkien, then it's worth ten thousand.
Freaking true.
I've given many hour-long talks to many groups of people (in fact I'm working on one right now which terrifies me in that I will be presenting it in front of the gods of our field at an international meeting...) and pictures work a million times better than text... a billion times better. In my whole PowerPoint presentation, I have three slides of text and 30+ slides of images and diagrams, and the text slides are just PR and citing previous work by other people.
PICTURES COMMUNICATE.
TEXT DOES NOT.

Am I the only one who noticed the creator drawing connections via imagery that RP does not make in his speech? Quite tempted to downvote, but I think I'll just stay neutral.

Why do all the most deceitful and lying politicians have this strange, perpetual, self-satisfying smug smile on all the time? It's like a trademark. Cheney being a notable example.
Could it be they are actually aware of how much bullshit they are spewing? Nah... let's not give them that much credit.
