Just heard yesterday (and am too lazy/busy to find a link atm), but Apple just won a patent yesterday that provides them the sole right to use multi-touch interface technology.

So this means it's not likely any other cellphone, for example, will ever be able to support multi-touch interaction. At least not without Apple's okay.

Good for them, but at the same time, that sucks ass that the technology will be restricted. I hope they won't be overly stingy with it.
