This is a xylo rag composed by George Hamilton Green in the 1920s, when (believe it or not) xylophone music was a huge fad. I believe this one is called 'Log Cabin Blues'. Most percussion majors will get to do a couple of these in college (but with marimba accompaniment instead of bass) and they are very fun.

Rush YYZ - Played by a 13 Year Old Girl Drummer!
I just caught Peart and Rush in the R30 concert from Frankfurt, Germany in 2004 and he has a 360° kit with more drums, cymbals bells and xylophones than you could shake your drumsticks at. I'll give props to the 13 year old and even to Tony Royster if we're comparing, but I don't think either could keep up with Niel. That said, he's 50+, has had umpteen years of experience at this point and, eh, I'll guess did not have this level of talent at their age. But you always look up to others don't you? I can't imagine that Niel had that level of drummer to idolize 30 some odd years ago...

My apologies Rottenseed, you accurately predicted it. You're like some sort of freaky prophet guy!
Cat vs Xylophone
Hm. I have no idea how that toy xylophone would sound to a cat's ears, but apparently it's not pleasant.
4 Year Old Chinese Girl TOTALLY RAWKS
JAPR: Yep, lots of asians. Even myself had to learned to play xylophone and I hated it. My parents forced me to learn music. I still suck at playing music too.![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/frown.gif)
David Copperfield with an Early, Beautiful Illusion
upvote for the synthetic '80's xylophone and bass
downvote for the cheesy bravado and MadTV-Dane Cook-style stare
but upvote for the neat ending.

What a great idea! That was.... not utilized with ANY aplomb. Geeziz, a fantastic idea like that and he comes up with a "score" that consists primarily of the most jarring and obnoxious note on the xylophone possible? Where was the melody? Where was a tune that one could hear and hum later?
That awesome notion was wasted on the guy who did it. It looks cool but the "score" was nothing but a mess. I am very sad. What a waste...
Bob Scheifer Cracks Up Laughing at a Monocle-Wearing Scientist Interviewed About Non-Planet Pluto (37 secs)
Do not mock the Moore. For he has a xylophone.
Etnan - 6 year old Piano Prodigy
I took xylophone lessons as a kid since my parents wanted me to learn music. I sucked with music especially with tempo/timing.
I prefer art though!
Vibraphone Orchestra
Actually there is only one Vibraphone in that "orchestra" all the ladies are playing Marimbas (longer wooden keys). A vibraphone has metal keys and a foot pedal like a piano which is used to let the notes resonate longer... a Xylophone is made out of a composite material not wood like a marimba or metal like a vibraphone. Also just metal keys without any resonators are called "bells" or "glockenspiel". Everyone’s percussion lesson for the day![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/smile.gif)
Tiersen - Eurock 2001
Very cool indeed! I was going to vote for it at the end cause that was some good music and I just wanted to make sure nothing stupid happens (scary image kind of thing in the middle). But when the guy was playing the accordion and using a bow to ummm...play the xylophone, insta-vote!
