The Dukes of Stratosphear - 25 O'Clock
Man. I've had this song forever, labelled as a They Might Be Giants song. I got it from the age of mistitled Napster mp3's.
Edit: Oops -
"On the tribute album A Testimonial Dinner: The Songs of XTC, American alternative rock band They Might Be Giants contributed a cover version of "25 O'Clock"."

Atheist converted!!
that reminds me of a poem that I wrote and sung for the band XTC when I was a young boy.
Dear god, hope you get the letter and...
I pray you can make it better down here
I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer
But all the people that you made in your image
See them starving in the street
'Cause they don't get enough to eat from god
I can't believe in you>> ^dystopianfuturetoday:
Please God, save me from the holocaust.
Denied.
Please God, don't let my children drown in the tsunami.
Denied.
Please God, help my mom win the lottery.
Done.

What is your drug of choice? (User Poll by Throbbin)
(all links are to Erowid, a very informative non-profit educational site on drugs)
The *drugs I use most are coffee, marijuana, alcohol, benzodiazepines (valium, xanax etc.), in frequency of use respectively.
The drugs that have given me the most profound experiences are:
Salvia (legal), LSD, MDMA (XTC), DPT, 2c-i/2c-e, psilocybin mushrooms. I have tried nitrous (N2O)(legal) in combination with all except for Salvia and DPT and let me tell you that nitrous boosts them to a whole new, though sadly very fleeting, level for a few minutes.
I really want to have a good mescaline experience. But my last attempts at consuming the most horrid, bitter, slimy, and vomit inducing cactus goop only yielded threshold experiences. I really need to do an extraction on cactus and get some crystal mescaline for a measured and less yucky dose.
Another drug I really want to try is DMT or ayahuasca. Ayahuasca, though also reportedly horribly disgusting, is easily made out of legal plants and DMT can be extracted from them.
Yes I consider myself quite a psychonaut. I do thoroughly research these drugs before use and consider myself a responsible drug user. I only use these psychedelics very infrequently, like once every 3 months or so. They are quite self limiting.
What is your drug of choice? (User Poll by Throbbin)
Although the occasional 1-night coke-binge with a side of XTC and an O.C. to calm down, I find alcohol to be the most frequent of my drug experiences. Mainly because of accessibility but also because doing harder stuff too often can just make somebody a shitty human...

My pleasure! Dunno how I missed this song as a teenager growing up. I just heard it today on VH1 classic. Saw it here and decided more folks on the sift needed to hear this awesome song.

REO Speedwagon - "Keep On Lovin' You"
I don't consider this the 80's as much as a holdover from the last of the 70's.
The real 80's started with the Talking Heads, the Go-Go's, Devo, XTC, Depeche Mode, U2, and to some extent Blondie...all of the alternative bands that were just starting to get air play.
XTC - Dear God
Similar to XTC's earlier efforts: "Dear Santa," "Dear Tooth Fairy," and "Dear Easter Bunny" but they finally got it right with "Dear God." Well done, lads.
