Hard to really tell from the video, but it doesn't look that windy near the ground. How the hell is he getting so much control and lift so close to the ground. That's impressive.

Weird, I remember seeing a video where they grab the wing. Maybe that's only during windy conditions...

Watch the movie again and see how much line the guy pulls up. That's about ten waders in length, almost in the middle of what looks like a well-defined channel. Even if it was out lengthwise, that tells me there's a decent current there.

Next, try and go swimming in waders, or get them off when you're either in water or hanging on to a broken ice ledge.

The guy doesn't have ice pick safety devices in easy reach, it's windy as heck, and the conditions are slushy which means that ice is breaking up. And the ice in the hole doesn't look very thick either, maybe a couple inches from what I can see.

I'm "quick to judge" because I'm also an experienced ice fisherman. From all evidence that's visible in the video, that's a very dangerous way to fish.

I saw this sort of thing happen in big college parking lot once. There was freezing rain the night before, nobody salted, and there was a quarter inch of ice covering the entire surface. Then, at about 10 in the morning after 100 or so cars had arrived, it got REAL windy.

By the time I left at noon, cars were all over the place. Crashed into each other (doing serious damage), wedged together in improbable groupings. A few had even gone over the hill leading up to the lot.

Miraculously, my car was untouched and exactly where I left it. I believe this was because it was by far the crappiest car in the lot and generates a natural repellent force. Could have been all the rusted out holes in the bodywork too.

It got really windy last night, but this morning I woke up to blue skies. Where's my storm? I hope we're just in a hole and the storm will be back soon, we need the water badly.

UPDATE: As of February 2014 ALL coastline of California now reads CPM's as high as the exposure at 40,000 ft while flying in a commercial jet from cosmic radiation....Check incidences of cancer in commercial airline pilots vs. folks on the ground, and move inland if you are taken to windy walks on the beachfront in Cali, peeps...Cali coast and the fishes therein from that side of the Pacific are already fucked for centuries.

Chicago Timelapse Project - Windy City Nights from Max Wilson who says:

Windy City Nights is the result of a two year journey through Chicago at night. I started this timelapse project back in April of 2012 after getting inspired by a video I saw posted on Vimeo titled “We are Chicago” by Ross Gerbasi.

Well maybe if he was terrified enough by the build up he would be too caught up in the moment to use logic and reason to figure out that multiple people were floating in front of the bridge talking.

I seem to remember hearing wind blowing across the mic so if it was windy enough it might feel like being in a high place.
