awkward!!

the sift is a fun game for me; I have a great memory for weird music videos, short films, etc., often ones that are hard to find on youtube. When I find and sift one of them its like collecting fossils or seashells or something. Then when that link goes dead, well,... its simply a reminder of the impermanence of this mortal coil! ... and I move on adding more junk to my little collection of crazy vids.

That said, I've lost a number of really fun things, but its not like we're archiving the universe of video entertainment; we're sharing enjoyable things with others who might enjoy them. There is already no way you're ever going to watch everything on videosift that you'd enjoy watching... (probably)

I had a weird musical childhood, It was pretty narrow but some decent stuff, one of those was Steely Dan. When I was 16 and life was kicking me in the gut I remember listening to Steeely Dan over and over. Today I appreciate them even more and found my kids enjoy it too. Currently though they ask me to play Stevie Ray Vaughn or Pink Floyd when they ride in my car.

I'm pretty happy with the turnout so far in the collective, it's one of those topics I just can't get enough of and since there was almost zero stuff like that on the sift, I took a chance. Thanks for helping.

People seem to be enjoying the new collective. It's not my area I must admit other than watching years of X-files It has been fun shopping for it though

I have to admit I'm not very good at finding things apart from Youtube.

I agree that the stuff this vid is using to make its philisophical point is pretty much ungrounded/unprovable.

I think a lot of us maturing techies, (me included) are starting to struggle with spiritual ideas - and looking for belief systems that are not just based on rationality, logic and athiesm. I haven't found mine yet - but hope to before I die. ;-)
