Wild shopping cart out of control

SFOGuy says...

LOL. Throttle jammed open and side car passenger tries to tug the whole thing lose rather than kill the throttle when it finally jams into the side of the store?

Randomly Paired People Slap Each Other

What do you mean you can't hit a woman in the face....they have faces don't they?!?

That said, if a woman wants to attack, all sexist bets are off for me. That doesn't mean one should knock out a woman that slapped them, but it does mean 'just taking it' seems silly to me.

I'm with @artician...I'm not against GMO's because they're 'bad', I'm against them because they're untested, unlabeled, and are quickly replacing tested 'natural' foods and crops across the board and around the world. It's terribly irresponsible science to replace so much of our food crops with untested science experiments, knowing full well there will be side effects we didn't foresee and likely can't accept.
I would also agree that the child SEEMS to be simply repeating a speech he memorized, written by someone else much older. I HATE that kind of BS, more so when it's done this way, pretending the child is speaking and not regurgitating. I may agree with much of what he said, but much of his message is lost to me because of the attempted 'tug at my heart strings'.

Cliven Bundy Shares Some Peculiar Views

newtboy says...

Yeah, I was amazed that so many people jumped to the defense of a crazed violent felon who (along with his wife) threatened state and federal agents with being shot if they tried to enforce the laws of the land. I am pleased to see his support evaporate, even if it's because of a non-sequitur position he takes on race. Most of his support was based on BS far right wing stories in the first place, and on hatred of Obama, who is equated with the federal government in so many people's minds since 08.
I was most disappointed that the authorities "allowed" the armed tugs to 'steal' the cattle that had been confiscated, killing some cows in the process. The authorities absolutely should have stood their ground and shot anyone advancing on them, and arrested those not following legal instructions to disperse, they were all armed criminals at that point, threatening public officials with violence, that's a felony in most states with guaranteed prison time attached. I hope they got good video of everyone there and find them in the near future for prosecution, or this will happen again and again.
If you don't believe in the federal government, you are a traitor to the USA, not a patriot. The U in USA is for UNITED, which is what the fed is all about.

Some people are saying now that he's said racist things, people are being unfair and using that to detract from the point of Big Government going after the little guy.

I'm worried about that too, that this racism thing will detract from him being proved to be a Welfare Rancher. He was wrong throughout this entire episode and has surrounded himself with fellow ignorant idiots. Now those in the public eye are getting hammered because he says some racist shit? NO they should be hammered because they wrap themselves in the Flag and then support this moron who is wrong on every avenue.

You have to pay your taxes or you're stealing. You have to pay for the raw materials that keep your business going and profitable. You can't just refuse to be a member of the society, benefit from it and sell your wears to it. Then when the government that represents the people goes and tells you to knock it off threaten to "do what's necessary" and get a ton of Militia members to come protect your tax avoiding ass.

I wonder if Wesley Snipes thought "Well I'll just get some brothers with guns and hole up in my house, they'll never do anything!" How fast would 20 black people be killed cause they looked like they were threatening officers?

"It follows allegations they charged the government for tagging people who were either dead or in jail."

So, private companies in charge of electronic tagging were engaged in highly unethical behaviour. Who could it be, who could it be... who would have the standing to get these kinds of contracts, while being ruthless enough to pull up such a fraudulent scheme? Oh, I know: fucking Serco and G4S again.

If you ever decide to put these wankers, including Atos, on a barge, tug it into the middle of the northern Atlantic and leave it there, give us a call. I'd row the distance if it meant the end of those bastions of inhumanity.

Ode to the Picard Maneuver

TheFreak says...

A buddy of mine came back from a Con years ago excited because Jonathan Frakes was on a panel and, prompted by fan comments during the questioning, he pledged to create his own 'double tug' version of the Picard maneuver to use in future episodes.

Hmm...apparently he did.

Will it blend? Large ship versus a docked marina

SFOGuy says...

The crew of the ship (and by extension, the harbor pilot) is claiming that a "thruster" failed.
Looks to me more like a brain failure.
And the tug probably wouldn't do anything unless deliberately ordered to do so by the harbor pilot/captain---which, WAY late in the video, belatedly happens.

Will it blend? Large ship versus a docked marina

radx says...

What the...

I know nothing about the intricacies of maneuvering such a ship, so maybe someone can help me out.

She's drifting towards those boats, yet she doesn't go full ahead until ~50 seconds in: why?

And the tug lines to the ship seem slack: why isn't the tug boat going full astern?

Failed chain of communication, pilot/bridge crew playing strip poker?

awwww..did the big bad man on the internet hurt your feelings? How can you have possibly survived the internet for this long with such thin skin. Your "hurt" feelings are just another attempt at distraction and use of emotional manipulation.

No one cares about this argument eh? hrm, that's funny, *you* cared enough to reply to perpetuate it. Again...and again....and again. So, another failed argument. You have a decision to make. I hope you make the correct one.

Lets summarize shall we? You haven't demonstrated how more gun control makes anyone less free, you haven't defined what freedom is or how you even measure it. You keep attempting to evade these questions and tug at heart strings by using words like freedom, and coercion to attempt to manipulate the argument. You make repeated false equivalencies. And you have made no attempt to justify why the right to bear arms is exempt from requirements and other controls the same way other rights and freedoms have requirements and controls.

I answered your question yet you continue to pretend otherwise. I showed you numerous examples of requirements before freedoms and rights are granted and no one is claiming they are less free because of them. You make the claim that people are less free because of gun control but you REPEATEDLY fail to demonstrate how other than to suggest we should be an anarchy. Who cares how many people suffer, they'll learn their lesson eventually right?? right?? Sorry, we tried anarchy, didn't work..we moved on. Just because you wrapped your claim in the form of a question doesn't mean shit other than you're really to play Jeopardy with Alex Trebek. You're still making a claim that people will be less responsible with less freedom. Its your claim, you need to prove it. I've said this before and you still haven't done it.

Debate??!! Who said this was a debate? This is an internet forum. This is merely someone calling another person out on their BS I guess we can add strawman to the list of your logical fallacies now. That and you're making another attempt at distraction. There are actual rules in debate. Oh wait, you think rules take away freedom so I guess you won't be participating.

Don't cry foul, don't whine about name calling...be an adult and own up to your role in this. Suck it up. You chose to step into this and I called out your faulty logic. You made your bed, now lie in it. You claim it's pointless...yet you keep responding and asking for more. You can continue going in circles and bending and twisting your rationalizations as you go, or you can make an alternative choice. Put up or shut up.

Take your own advice. You have freedom and it appears that you have made a mistake. I am awaiting you to learn your lesson.

It's up to you amigo.

@VoodooV don't be flattered when I call you a bully, it means your posts are mostly attempts at intimidation, you trying hard to come out on top of an internet argument no one cares about. Calling me names only convinces me you understand your own beliefs so poorly that you resort to personal attacks as substitute for critical thinking.

The way you counterargue is mostly by taking whatever I write out of context and poking fun at it, calling me names, or pointing out something completely irrelevant as reason to invalidate it.

Like, "if you steal a gun,...", you intently misinterpret me, then, of course, flip the tables (why not?), and accuse me of "changing the argument". Here's the argument: demanding registration for voting is not an impediment to voting if it's required for the actual process. It's unlike gun control, imposing arbitrary rules to own a gun are far removed from the basic requirements of owning an actual gun.

Now, do I need to define "requirements", "arbitrary", "gun" with some kind of measurable unit before we continue? Are you going to resort to shifting focus to the loaded words I use, as excuse not to deal with the arguments they form?

This all started with a simple question, "won't people be less inclined to be responsible if they have less freedom?", and you did everything from claiming not to understand it, to insist that I "prove" that assertion, only to incessantly bicker at my naive attempts to indulge you.

I don't know what's more disappointing, that no one ever showed you what a productive debate looks like, or that you're trying so hard to avoid one. It's pointless.

No one likes to watch this, I'm sure you and I are the only people reading this far into our own posts. So stop with the chest-thumping, everybody left by now, and I'm not the least bit impressed. Also, stop quoting my entire posts, it's annoying.
