EDD says...

The Wire
Deadwood
Six Feet Under

in that order.

Then
Battlestar Galactica

Trust me, your girl will enjoy the shit out of True Blood and BSG.

Toss up between Six Feet Under and Battlestar Galactica. Follow them with Dexter and True Blood. As for thinking your girlfriend wouldn't enjoy the latter 3, don't be so sure.

A Look at Healthcare Around the World - NY Times Op-Ed (Blog Entry by JiggaJonson)

NetRunner says...

Let's just be clear here that the free market solution to someone being poor and sick is for them to die. If you’re too poor for HBO, you go without watching True Blood. If you’re too poor for a MacBook Pro, you make due without one. And if you’re too poor for statins you get a heart attack. And if you’re too poor to get your heart attack treated you die. That would be what a free market health care system looked like -- like free markets in other things.

(I blatantly plagiarized that rant, but it's one worth repeating.)

Why You're An Idiot For Not Watching 'Mad Men' (1sttube Talk Post)

^I know what you mean. I'm used to watching a whole bunch of Mad Men in a row- once a week will not be as fun. Luckily, I'm still in season 1 of True Blood.

BTW, the season premiere of Mad Men did not disappoint. Looks like we'll be delving into Don's (Dick's) childhood a lot more this time around - and the cat is out of the bag on Salvatore's sexual orientation.

I just watched it last weekend in High Definition. It's perhaps the best Vampire/Love film I have watched in a long time. I can't believe how well the film was carried by two 12 year old kids.

Thanks!

I liked the True Blood clip you posted and listening to a vampire speak Norwegian got me thinking; have you seen Let the Right One In? Sure, its Sweedish but something about those 2 languages and vampires mixes very well. If you havent seen it, it's an amazing movie.

Kevin Smith's Views on Twilight

EDD says...

I don't like Twilight because the author borrowed the very basics of vampire mythology and shat all over the rest. One might as well throw, say, elves in there - you can't go wrong with elves!! It just doesn't compare to True Blood, which has simply bent the 'rules' slightly all the while managing to still make complete sense as far as mythology and logic is concerned.

Real Time with Bill Maher - Drug War

Xaielao says...

I subscribe to HBO for Bill Maher and True Blood (which is freaking awesome FYI,) and thats it. I probably don't watch anything else on the channel but those two shows. Perhaps it's a waste of money but in my eyes they are absolutely worth it.
