Doc Rivers
I think what's also important is that these videos live forever. They are a timeless warning to future generations. Even if Trump is not elected there is going to be some serious denial lingering afterwards. These videos are a record of the fight for Democracy and how it was won. Everybody, winners and losers will learn something.
Here's the thing: what is the audience for this incredibly well made video? Because 94%+ of Republicans say they will vote for the President again.
Are the Lincoln folks trying to set up a future in which they were not the ones who went down with the Trump ship? (he's still even odds in Vegas to win the election)
I dunno. I enjoy the ads--but---I'm not sure who the audience is.
How to Apply Your Mask
I got the feeling after watching some of her other videos that she targets a group of kids that have had a tough and abusive life. Her words or lyrics or style harmonize with victims and gets their attention but may also elude the "fortunate". She also shows hope that they can overcome just as she has.
Music, no matter the genre will reach those that are looking for answers to cope with whatever the damage may be and the answer will always be, "you are not alone in being alone."
-----------------------------------
All alone, or in two's
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands
The bleeding hearts and the artists
Make their stand
And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall - Pink Floyd

The Spirit of Radio
Begin the day
With a friendly voice
A companion, unobtrusive
Plays that song that's so elusive
And the magic music makes your morning mood
Off on your way
Hit the open road
There is magic at your fingers
For the spirit ever lingers
Undemanding contact
In your happy solitude
Invisible airwaves
Crackle with life
Bright antennae bristle
With the energy
Emotional feedback
On a timeless wavelength
Bearing a gift beyond price
Almost free
All this machinery
Making modern music
Can still be open-hearted
Not so coldly charted
It's really just a question
Of your honesty, yeah, your honesty
One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity, yeah
Invisible airwaves
Crackle with life
Bright antennae bristle
With the energy
Emotional feedback
On a timeless wavelength
Bearing a gift beyond price
Almost free
For the words of the profits
Were written on the studio wall
Concert hall
And echoes with the sound of salesmen
Of salesmen, of salesmen - Rush
found that chilling.
the music.
the voice.
the ethereal background.
maybe they showed this to all those anti-maskers?
weirded the living bee-jezzus out of them!
some vicious propaganda that is.
(or would that be anti-propaganda propaganda? 'cause normal propaganda was pro-mask and this was anti-that? either way, haven't felt that spooked since they tried to indoctrinate me into the cult of mary kay)
Nothing about this seems like a good idea
I would like to point out that--I think that group is bunch of all men. And that, from my personal experience---that makes it timeless. Well, certainly for me and my group of friends lol
Three strangers singing
Watched the movie Yesterday yesterday. Timeless.
Screamin' Jay Hawkins on Arsenio Hall with Emo Philips
Shameless self *promote of a great performance of a timeless classic
Fahrenheit 451 (2018) | Teaser Trailer | HBO
It was Truffaut after all.
I just hope they don't try to shoehorn modern politics into it. The first film worked so well because the message is timeless.
I sure hope so. The original was perfect.
Understanding Comfortably Numb
Of all the things about The Wall that I love, the most amazing (to me) is how utterly timeless it is. Nothing in it dates it. You only get that with truth.
Comedian Attacked By Woman
It was the dick joke for sure, it hit WAY TOO CLOSE to home. Doesn't everyone agree? Why did I hit the sarcasm button again!?
--------
Now for those that wish to know a bit about that little monument...
I'll assume since he's a comedian he does actually know a bit about the Washington Monument (that is "typically" true for many comedians, they may make fun of something, but they tend to have a fairly in-depth knowledge of just what they ARE making fun of; though not always).
It is, of course, an obelisk. An obelisk was chosen for Washington (probably due to some of his Freemason views, who knows; they may have played a part--a decently big one in my eyes--lots of Washington D.C. is like that) as obelisks are some of the oldest structures in Egyptian culture--for George it was to mean this: "...to evoke the timelessness of ancient civilizations, the Washington Monument embodies the awe, respect, and gratitude the nation felt for its most essential Founding Father..."!
It was fairly hard in "its day" to make and complete; its original design was a HUGE undertaking but was scaled down along the way as resources and support dwindled. It took a very long time to finish and holds a great many distinctions, and most certainly isn't a, "...cement structure." (if you took that literally). It's marble and put together like a puzzle (kind of like brick and mortar, all the way up; a lot of it is marble--two different kinds, Pre-Civil-War, Post-Civil-War). For the time this was an actual engineering feat, from a degree due its height and size (when completed, it was the tallest BUILDING in the entire world--again explaining why it wasn't an "easy" build at all) and from there many of the "goodies" that were included within the project. BUT, the original design that would have made that monument quite different (not so "clean" or "empty") was changed by the final person with the say so, changing MANY details about the whole Monument from its original framework.
Look that up yourself, but one part is the fact that both the ground around it would be FAR different AND the Obelisk would look FAR different as it would be decorated with all the ornamentation, wording, symbolism, etc... From 1848 to 1884; from one idea to a fairly different one; one that was more attention getting and true to the Egyptian building, and their new ideas; to something different; a blank, clean look as it is now.
Ricky Gervais And Colbert Go Head-To-Head On Religion
Well, we can deduce the qualities of what is eternal by the fact that the Universe had a beginning. Since time matter space and energy had a beginning, it necessarily means that the cause of the Universe is timeless, spaceless, unimaginably powerful, and immaterial..already you have two of the primary attributes of God..omnipotence, and omnipresence. You can also deduce a few more from there.
Basically what I am saying is that God is a rational explanation for the existence of the Universe since He is better explanation for the evidence. It makes less sense for a Universe to spontaneously be caused by either nothing or something eternal without a mind behind it.
Even if we accept your binary premise, there's still no reason to believe that the "something eternal" would be a god.
New Metallica song - Moth into flame
Blacked out
Pop queen, amphetamine
The screams crashed into silence
Tapped out
Doused in the gasoline
The high times going timeless
Decadence
Death of the innocence
The pathway starts to spiral
Infamy
All for publicity
Destruction going viral
Light it up
Ah, light it up
Another hit erases all the pain
Bulletproof
Ah, kill the truth
You’re falling, but you think you’re flying high
High again
Sold your soul
Built a higher wall
Yesterday
Now you’re thrown away
Same rise and fall
Who cares at all?
Seduced by fame
A moth into the flame
Twisted
Backstabbing wicked
The delusion absolution
Perjurer
Fame is the murderer
Seduce you into ruin
Light it up
Ah, light it up
Another hit erases all the pain
Bulletproof
Ah, tell the truth
You’re falling, but you think you’re flying high
High again
Sold your soul
Built the higher wall
Yesterday
Now you’re thrown away
Same rise and fall
Who cares at all?
Seduced by fame
A moth into the flame
Burn
Guarantee your name, you go and kill yourself
The vultures feast around you still
Overdose on shame and insecurity
If one won’t do that fistful will
Death scene
Black hearse the limousine
A grave filled with seduction
Vaccine
Fame does the murdering
She builds up for destruction
So light it up
Ah, light it up
Another hit erases all the pain
Bulletproof
Ah, no excuse
You’re falling, but you think you’re flying high
High again
Sold your soul
Built the higher wall
Yesterday
Now you’re thrown away
Same rise and fall
Who cares at all?
Seduced by fame
A moth into the flame

The Incredible Transforming Osprey
The video in question shows the Osprey's unique capability of transforming from its more traditional aircraft function into that of its less popular, occasionally criticized, but timeless formation: the flying coffin.
marc maron-no safe spaces for men anymore
@enoch I believe him! you are!
Though truly, something like this happened to me as well, but it wasn't this confrontational, and it was totally my fault. I was taking photos of a bunch of kids playing in the park. It was during a community concert, in the daytime, where my partner was playing in the band. It was great, lots of action, good lighting, fun times, etc. One of the parents just approached me at one point and chatted to me a bit, which I realized later was probably a family representative making first contact with a potential threat to the community.
Ha ha! Prison-sentence: Avoided!
As a 'friend of the band' I usually volunteered to photograph their concerts, which probably helped get me off the hook. Regardless, the atmosphere was such, and those moments were so timeless, that it just didn't feel wrong.
(which is *totally* what a molester would say!)
...you're kinda sketchy to begin with.
John Cleese Remembers Monty Python's "Dead Parrot"
Never will go stale, as funny as I first saw it. Purely timeless, nothing dating it. Comedic perfection.
For those that may want to view the dead parrot sketch again
The Oath of Fëanor
When Morgoth in that day of doom
had slain the trees and filled with gloom
the shining land of Valinor,
there Fëanor and his sons then swore
the mighty oath upon the hill
of tower-crownéd Tún, that still
wrought wars and sorrow in the world.
From darkling seas the fogs unfurled
their blinding shadows grey and cold
where Glingal once had bloomed with gold
and Belthil bore its silver flowers.
The mists were mantled round the towers
of the Elves' white city by the sea.
There countless torches fitfully
did start and twinkle, as the Gnomes
were gathered to their fading homes,
and thronged the long and winding stair
that led to the wide echoing square.
There Fëanor mourned his jewels divine
the Silmarils he made. Like wine
his wild and potent words them fill;
a great host harkens deathly still.
But all he said both wild and wise,
half truth and half the fruit of lies
that Morgoth sowed in Valinor,
in other songs and other lore
recorded is. He bade them flee
from lands divine, to cross the sea,
the pathless plains, the perilous shores
where ice-infested water roars;
to follow Morgoth to the unlit earth
leaving their dwellings and olden mirth;
to go back to the Outer Lands
to wars and weeping. There their hands
they joined in vows, those kinsmen seven,
swearing beneath the stars of Heaven,
by Varda the Holy that them wrought
and bore them each with radiance fraught
and set them in the deeps to flame.
Timbrenting's holy height they name,
whereon are built the timeless halls
of Manwë Lord of Gods. Who calls
these names in witness may not break
his oath, though earth and heaven shake.
Curufin, and Celegorm the fair,
Damrod and Díriel were there,
and Cranthir dark, and Maidros tall
(whom after torment should befall),
and Maglor the mighty who like the sea
with deep voice sings yet mournfully.
'Be he friend or foe, or seed defiled
of Morgoth Bauglir, or mortal child
that in after days on earth shall dwell,
no law, nor love, nor league of hell,
nor might of Gods, nor moveless fate
shall defend him from wrath and hate
of Fëanor's sons, who takes and steals
or finding keeps the Silmarils,
the thrice-enchanted globes of light
that shine until the final night.'
The Song of Eärendil
Eärendil was a mariner
that tarried in Arvernien;
he built a boat of timber felled
in Nimbrethil to journey in;
her sails he wove of silver fair,
of silver were her lanterns made,
her prow was fashioned like a swan,
and light upon her banners laid.
In panoply of ancient kings,
in chainéd rings he armoured him;
his shining shield was scored with runes
to ward all wounds and harm from him;
his bow was made of dragon-horn,
his arrows shorn of ebony,
of silver was his habergeon,
his scabbard of chalcedony;
his sword of steel was valiant,
of adamant his helmet tall,
an eagle-plume upon his crest,
upon his breast an emerald.
Beneath the Moon and under star
he wandered far from northern strands,
bewildered on enchanted ways
beyond the days of mortal lands.
From gnashing of the Narrow Ice
where shadow lies on frozen hills,
from nether heats and burning waste
he turned in haste, and roving still
on starless waters far astray
at last he came to Night of Naught,
and passed, and never sight he saw
of shining shore nor light he sought.
The winds of wrath came driving him,
and blindly in the foam he fled
from west to east and errandless,
unheralded he homeward sped.
There flying Elwing came to him,
and flame was in the darkness lit;
more bright than light of diamond
the fire upon her carcanet.
The Silmaril she bound on him
and crowned him with the living light
and dauntless then with burning brow
he turned his prow; and in the night
from Otherworld beyond the Sea
there strong and free a storm arose,
a wind of power in Tarmenel;
by paths that seldom mortal goes
his boat it bore with biting breath
as might of death across the grey
and long-forsaken seas distressed:
from east to west he passed away.
Through Evernight he back was borne
on black and roaring waves that ran
o'er leagues unlit and foundered shores
that drowned before the Days began,
until he heard on strands of pearl
where ends the world the music long,
where ever-foaming billows roll
the yellow gold and jewels wan.
He saw the Mountain silent rise
where twilight lies upon the knees
of Valinor, and Eldamar
beheld afar beyond the seas.
A wanderer escaped from night
to haven white he came at last,
to Elvenhome the green and fair
where keen the air, where pale as glass
beneath the Hill of Ilmarin
a-glimmer in a valley sheer
the lamplit towers of Tirion
are mirrored on the Shadowmere.
He tarried there from errantry,
and melodies they taught to him,
and sages old him marvels told,
and harps of gold they brought to him.
They clothed him then in elven-white,
and seven lights before him sent,
as through the Calacirian
to hidden land forlorn he went.
He came unto the timeless halls
where shining fall the countless years,
and endless reigns the Elder King
in Ilmarin on Mountain sheer;
and words unheard were spoken then
of folk of Men and Elven-kin,
beyond the world were visions showed
forbid to those that dwell therein.
A ship then new they built for him
of mithril and of elven-glass
with shining prow; no shaven oar
nor sail she bore on silver mast:
the Silmaril as lantern light
and banner bright with living flame
to gleam thereon by Elbereth
herself was set, who thither came
and wings immortal made for him,
and laid on him undying doom,
to sail the shoreless skies and come
behind the Sun and light of Moon.
From Evereven's lofty hills
where softly silver fountains fall
his wings him bore, a wandering light,
beyond the mighty Mountain Wall.
From World's End then he turned away,
and yearned again to find afar
his home through shadow journeying,
and burning as an island star
on high above the mists he came,
a distant flame before the Sun,
a wonder ere the waking dawn
where grey the Norland waters run.
And over Middle-earth he passed
and heard at last the weeping sore
of women and of elven-maids
in Elder Days, in years of yore.
But on him mighty doom was laid,
till Moon should fade, an orbéd star
to pass, and tarry never more
on Hither Shores where mortals are;
for ever still a herald on
an errand that should never rest
to bear his shining lamp afar,
the Flammifer of Westernesse.
