I don't know for sure but this might be awesome. I can just imagine when the band sees the final cut they're rolling on the floor, laughing. Unable to breathe!

I am slightly frustrated (annoyed) that you missed my point, given that I think I made it very clear.

Not everyone who is having trouble finding a job is undereducated, not willing to explore labor jobs, educated in something that is not useful, or self-entitled.

In fact, quite the opposite. Most people I know who are having trouble finding work are unemployed because they lack industry experience, which they can't get because no one is hiring entry level positions. Thus, your reductive and simplistic rant is an naive interpretation of the current economic situation. As such, your blanket statements about people who can't find a job are simply false.

I gave a specific example that demonstrated empirically (a concrete example of) my point. To reiterate (repeat), highly educated people are unable to obtain labor jobs due to their credentials, because companies like Safeway, Wholes Foods, Walmart, etc fear these employees will not stay long enough to recoup any investment in training.

The fact that you persist in clinging on to your beliefs and cant say simply "You are right, and I was wrong. Good point, I should not have made a blanket statement" indicates to me that you are willfully ignorant (intentionally making an effort to not understand).

Here are the specific answers to your questions:
1) I am an experimental physicist and my wife is a biologist.

2) At research universities (Harvard, Stanford, etc), Professors hired based on research. Typically they are pioneers in their field and have numerous high profile publications.

3) My position is based on merit. As I said, I received numerous awards based on my academic and research performance.

My comment on that is, I dropped out of college. I didn't see a use for it. College sadly has gotten to be a for profit education system.

IV league schools probably only 10% of the people who go there, got in on merit. The rest are because Mommy or Daddy is famous. George Bush Jr didn't diserve to go to Yale. He got in because of who his dad was.

I had a teacher in college who made us Buy his book and we had to buy it new. He would also sign the inside cover so people couldn't use the same book twice. If we didn't it would effect 5% of our grade. He was a greedy little shit.

Which is why Tenure is corrupting our Education system. I had great teachers and I had shitty teachers. I just want to be able to get rid of the shitty teachers to bring in more great teachers.

Florida got rid of tenure, and you can search and read the benefits it has had on the children.

If you use College as a Vocational (Trade) school it still works. But I have alot of friends who have degrees in Communication and Physical Education who are having a hard time finding jobs and don't understand why. And I feel bad for them.

Art History majors. We are simply graduating 100x the amount of art history majors then there are jobs in art history.

I undestand your issue with being over qualified and it sucks. If I were you or your wife, I would leave it off my resume and lie. If your dealing with Safeway or a big company, no one is getting hurt. I wouldn't do that to a Mom and Pop Shop.

I have a difficult time counting this album as within the Pink Floyd discography. Sure, it's the music of Nick, Dave, and Roger, but this sounds more like the aftershocks of The Wall and the fallout within the band that it precipitated.

Just as Rick and David played on Syd Barrett's solo album, "Barrett," I see this as Nick and David playing on Roger's solo album, "The Final Cut."

And while I love Pink Floyd (from Piper, to Saucerful, to Atom Heart Mother -- maybe parts of Umma Gumma -- to Meddle, to Animals, to Dark Side, to the Wall, et. al.), I have little tolerance for any of the band's solo material, including Rogers', in which I count this particular music.

I'd like to say to Roger, someday, "For gosh sakes, man, wasn't the double-album, gigantic stage show, and feature film enough to get the message across? You didn't have to try to make a sequel out of it, did you?"

BTW, Rick Wright doesn't play on this album at all--Waters fired him during the making of The Wall and did not invite him back for The Final Cut (though Wright did play at the Wall concerts). Sadly, his name should probably be removed from the tags, just as the man has now been removed from our lives. RIP. :-(

It's like they're trying to improvise what everyday people might say, instead of writing something more clever. This scene is thankfully way shorter in the final cut. The rest of the movie has some funny parts, but I found it generally kinda mediocre, with some funny people hardly used.

No... NO!

That's the WHOLE problem. The originals ARE NOT on the set. They released them ONCE on DVD (which I bought) as 'special features' along side the special editions.


But guess what they did? They got the dirtiest, worst possible quality prints for the original version and THEN did not present them on dvd as anamorphic. Meaning that if you watch it on a widescreen tv you have to find your settings somewhere to zoom it in and stretch it out. And, of course, that means that
a) It's a pain in the arse, so you never watch them
and
b) They are as low resolution as humanly possible.

He did it to fuck with us.
'Here... here's the old versions you've whinged about... here you go, they're on DVD'
'Um, they are just horrible quality and tiny on my screen, and... I can't watch those'
'Well, watch the lovely Special Editions I forced you buy alongside them then, they're much nicer quality'
'Oh fuck you'

And there will NOT be any versions other than the 'special' editions on the Blu Rays.

Hence, no purchase from me.

I don't give a crap how much he wants to muck around with his movies, but you should ALWAYS be able to get them in their original form in as high quality as possible as well. But he won't do that, because he knows people would rather watch the originals, which would just confirm all the shit he's added to them is unwanted rubbish.

Blade runner shows how to do it right. 5, FIVE versions of the movie on the Blu Ray release I have, all fantastic quality. Watch the original release, or watch Ridley's final cut... YOU have the choice. If you like the voice over, watch it that way and still in wonderful quality.

give me sony vegas or adobe premier anyday, I hated final cut when I used it in college

I actually had more fun with Sony Vegas, although adobe premier was good
