I loved this! Think it might fit in *timeshift since it's stop motion, but I'm not sure. Let's give it a try =o)

"This is a stop motion video I made to document my process of crocheting one of my larger than life portraits in yarn from start to finish. In my work I use a traditional basic crochet technique taught to me at an early age by my Gran. I work one knot at a time, from the inside out, row by row. I always begin my crochet portraits in the middle with the eyes and work out from there until the piece is completed. I work directly from photographs, using no sketches, graphs or computer imaging. Each piece is handmade, labour-intensive, instinctively composed. Nothing is planned ahead; I make it up as I go along. I spend a lot of time simply looking, unraveling, and reworking until I get it right. To make this video I photographed the work after each new yarn colour or two was added, and edited the photos into a sequence. Wow. I have never seen live action stop motion before. I'll have to check to be certain, but I'm pretty sure it just blew my mind.

I was born between the release of the original Gershon Kingsley version and the release of the the Hot Butter version http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popcorn_%28instrumental%29, so I think there's a very good chance I heard one of them as a child.

Hey I just realized a lot of this video is stop-motion!

Beautiful. Not anything within anything though. There is only one layer (or level) of animation going on here. The within thing doesn't make any sense. How close to the camera the people hold the cards is the only difference from any other stop-motion animation. The fact that you see what or who is holding the cards doesn't add a level of video or animation. The fact that many people around the world are holding the cards and the quality of the experience is what is special.
