I Crashed My Plane
He absolutely faked it. Consider:
- Happened to wear a skydiving parachute for the first time on YT on this flight
- Fuel selector line to the right wing was visibly disconnected, accounting for an empty wing, short intended flight, and the lack of fire
- Left door was ajar when prop started to sputter
- Down/up pitch inputs during "engine failure" add drag and slow the plane, whereas basic pilot training is to put the nose down to gain airspeed
This pilot had some good points.

How This Cyclist Hit 184MPH and Set the World Record
Human terminal velocity is around 120mph when falling in breathable altitudes in a belly-down (flat) position. Pulling in your limbs will get you closer to 200mph, which is roughly what a peregrine falcon hits in its dive and in the ballpark of what a .30-06 round in freefall (ie, after being fired straight up) would reach. Professional speed skydivers fly head-down and reach 330mph. The higher you start, the lower air density and thus higher terminal velocity you get. Felix Baumgartner jumped from 128,000 feet and reached 840mph.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 6 Fallout BEHIND THE SCENES
Here is the skydiving scene
Wingsuit Training
Awesome. I had wondered if they would ever figure this out like they did indoor skydiving. I'm expecting a big jump in the number of large red blood stains on various rock faces and other immovable objects.

Why Peregrine Falcons Are The Fastest Animals On Earth
I kind of feel like by this rational... skydivers are the fastest creatures on the planet.
Mesmerizing Dance Routine in a Wind Tunnel
*quality athlete right here, gotta *promote
Was going to post this a few days ago but couldn't find anything better than a facebook embed. Beautiful routine, so much so that watching this inspired me to go indoor skydiving this past weekend (highly recommend it if you can find a tunnel near you). Let me tell you, shit's hard... she makes it look effortless. life goals.

Would You Ride This?
I've actually been on one of these in Thailand at Hanuman World, near Phuket.
I was the only person riding it that day, and the staff were looking at me and asking if I was ready to use it with a touch of incredulity - as though not many people did, or people had backed out when they saw it.
It was as you'd expect, fast, extreme and terrifying/terrific, and about 1/3rd of the way down it i realised i was completely out of breath. The corners and drops and stuff were so extreme and at such high speed I was having to tense every muscle and hold my breath - it was exhausting just to sit on it. I had to take very deep very determined breaths to recover. I don't think i'd have second thoughts about skydiving or bungee jumping after riding that thing. It was insane, and i'd love to do it again. However rough it looks on the video, it feels about 10x more violent when you're on one.
