Most Disturbing Workplace Safety Video Evar?
I think this was Sam Raimi's first project. Where's Bruce?
Drag Me To Hell-Trailer Sam Raimi's New Horror Movie
Very impressed (which is most definitely a first for me and horror movie trailers). I can't quite put my finger on it, but I guess it's Raimi's oldschool vibe.
Worst product placement ever (& major BSG spoiler)
Lolygons! Sam Raimi inspired gush!
Dark Knight: Load of Tripe (Cinema Talk Post)
I'm not a big superhero fan either, but I dug it. I love art movies as much as next urban sophisticate, but sometimes you need some testostone-laden death and explosions. I'd definitely plop down 20 bucks to see a Batman helmed by Lars Von Trier, but in the mean time, Christopher Nolan is doing a bang up job.
I'd say this series is much better than the Raimi Spiderman flicks, but not as good as V for Vendetta or the first two Supermans.
Condor Heroes and Wuxia in General (Blog Entry by lucky760)
I saw some episodes (installments?) from these series several years ago... they play in Ann Arbor on one of the international channels that is part of the expanded cable package I no longer get. They air in Chinese, with English subtitles (sometimes), and are shown during the day like a soap opera.
As I am familiar with some of the historical novels this genre is based on, like Monkey King, and the Warrior Hero tales from the Warring States Period, I thought they were kind of fun, and not too terribly dissimilar from Sam Raimi's Hercules or Xenia Warrior Princess, although lacking in the self deprecating camp humor that popularized those two shows, the LOCH and ROCH episodes were kind of cool in the same way that they took old old old stories, and reinvented them in a serialized fashion for modern audiences. I can see getting addicted to them if I had the time.
Fun With Lawyers - The Shoe Drops (Blog Entry by dag)
^good point, I hadn't accounted for the actual cost and effort that goes into getting the cheese to come out of the can... so I guess as an analogy that is a little off for a Sam Raimi flick... mostly, I was thinking about the taste.

uhhh... why is Sam Raimi's Within The Woods in the sift talk if it has been killed?
Fun With Lawyers - The Shoe Drops (Blog Entry by dag)
Was the movie any good? I'm not crazy about any of Sam Raimi's films that don't have the words 'Evil', 'Dead' and 'II' in the title.
Sam Raimi's Within The Woods

Sam Raimi has asserted copyright, so we're removing this post. see here:

Movie Lines from Action Heroes (9:26)
this one's taking forever to load, so i'm only at halfway (Sly as Marion Cobretti ) but none i don't know yet.
i suspect i know the Raimi one you're referring to, though.
Anyone remember Cleopatra 2525?
Whoa whoa whoa there Mr. EMPIRE... On ce calm, on respire par le nez.
I have the whole series on DVD of 2525, it wasn't as good as other Sam Raimi/Rob Tapert efforts... But it was 22 minutes to turn off your brain and chuckle at good looking women blowing shit up.
And that's just as good as damn near anything when the mood hits.
