Yeah well, farhad has to work on funny, after all, he's ducked in and out here since the rabble took over, stroking himself as he leaves his trail, a legacy dying or dead on the vine-same sort of contempt for the clueless we both share, though we express it in ways that juxtapose beyond your pathetic mortal brains fathomabilities, on a good day, with pussy(or cocks, respectfully, for you gay motherfuckers) in your faces and autism as your motors.

For the cheap seats-It's porn, It's not porn. It's art, It's not art. It sucks, it blows, it's racy, it's tame, it's up to the admins ultimately to decide that they know how to form sentences and convey meaning, 69 percent of the time.

Uhhhh, Luuuuucky....dag??
"May I post video's from pornbumper here, cause, like, you know, girls with black cocks shove up their pink cooters turns me on and it's art....Oh and, gingers fondling their titties in a tasteful way is ok for television in Japan, and I was wondering, can i show my inverted asshole with a macro camera so that It looks like a baby being born as long as no one notices that it's my inflamed hemorrhoids after a round of scotch bonnet marmelase??? Huuh?? Ok???!"

May I have this girl's parent's phone number so I can tell them she's on Videosift embroiled in a bullshit diversive meaningless controversy that makes people think about just what rules mean in a world without them?? Hmmmmmmm??!!

I could give a fiddlers fuck that this is siftworthy or not.Farhad already knows the bee he stashed in the collective bonnet, he's sitting back watching the fun right now....cause his girlfriend freaked out on him and he has access to good drugs now....awwww....that's so sweeeeeet!

Religion is a drug that atheists get a contact high from.
Politics are a way for the developmentally disabled to pretend that they are having conversations that have an impact on the world they inhabit, and bacon....well, bacon should be taught in Muslim schools as Allah's manna he sent to confuse dumb motherfuckers who think that eating it everyday causes problems.

Why would you look at that, looks like Democrats accepted more money than Republicans from the insurance and health industries..

Keep fucking that chicken. This country is bought and owned by the Corporate Citizens. These people aren't the heroes you think they are. Read the damned bill. It's a corporate playground in there. Read it for yourself. If you can get it to load and go easy on the CTRL F that causes a massive slow down.

One of the reasons I dislike the bill? Here:

Did you read that? No, I thought not. The bills are so complicated that you need a lawyer to understand them, and then even that. Tax law is the only place where it is permissible to use Ignorance as a defense. Ignorantia juris non excusat

That is what is fundamentally wrong with this nation. The laws are so god-damned complicated. That's why tax laws never been wholly reformed or edited.

5 year old forced off school bus miles from home

enoch says...

wow.
give me the bud drivers name so i can go kick him in the balls.
this story brought back memories of a personal nature.
my first day of kindergarten.exciting and new and not a tad bit intimidating but i got on the wrong bus going home from school.
i remember trying so hard to see a recognizable landmark and the more kids got off the bus the higher my anxiety.
needless to say,by the time i was the last kid i was producing some pretty impressive snot bubbles because by then i was petrified that i was never gonna make it home and i was so scared.
and do you know what that bus driver did?
sat me right behind her and drove to every ray street in my area.even gave me a lolipop and got me to smile.she made it ok..she was gonna get me home.when i finally recognized my street this bus driver took it one step further and drove me right to my driveway.

you know, maybe in this day an age kids have cell phones and can memorize their address and phone number, whip out an ipod and check google maps but when it all comes down to it...its about community.what this bus driver did was fucking WRONG.i dont care about procedure, rules or regulations..you dont push a scared 5 yr old off your bus because he is unsure where he is at...EVER.what you DO is do whatever you can to get that kid home and rules be damned.so what if you get reprimanded?who cares if you have to listen to a lecture about "waste" and "productivity time".you did what was RIGHT.
i have watched too many people, parents mainly, who have been scared into boogeyman syndrome.that somehow there is a pedophile in every other house just waitin to bugger their child and every other house has a rapist/burglar watching your every move.the fact of the matter is:most people are decent and are not looking to bugger little johnny nor do they covet your "vintage" sony walkman, they are people just like you and i.which one of us would see a hysterical little kid lost and afraid and NOT try to help?
conclusion:the bus driver is a righteous FUCK.may he be raped with a razor blade dildo.

People who Appreciate a Good User Experience Will Like the iPad (Blog Entry by dag)

spoco2 says...

I said in the original thread that I thought it would fail, but also said that I was sure that Apple would prove me wrong as they seem to have been on the mark for a long time.

However.

It does not excite me in the slightest. The first thing that killed it for me was the horrible, horrible look. That enormous bezel, it's so big and chunky... I was hoping for something smooth and sexy and sleek... this ain't that.

So, I continue to lust after the Microsoft Courier be it a real product actually coming or not.

To have a little leather like bound notepad that I can open up and use my fingers and a stylus on just like a notebook, but have all my notes (I have a collection of pads that I've gone through at work with my notes and doodles) in a form I can actually search back through and cross reference and clip and paste things from the world (via its camera), or the web or... well... look, THAT gets me excited, and everyone I've shown that video to gets excited... it serves a tangible, simple purpose to me that nothing else does:

It replaces my physical pen and paper notepad.

And it does so in a way that solves problems I've had for ages:

* Where is that phone number I wrote down (flick, flick, flick... man, how long ago was it I wrote that down?)
* I can only really write in black as I'm not going to lug around many different pens or use one of those four colour doovies
* I can't easily clip and paste in pieces of reference into it
* I can't take my notes easily and transfer them by email

I want, want, want that product... I want that interface... I want it to be real, it actually solves problems I have

Now... the iPad, what does it solve?

Um

Um

Nothing.

It's inventing needs where there aren't any.

And that's why I don't want one.

But if you do... huzzah for the shopkeep... of course, being an Australian now, you're shit out of luck with actually getting any books with it as they refuse to use the open standard for eBooks. Apple continuing to limit options as they always do.

How cooking shaped our evolution

handmethekeysyou says...

obscenesimian, I was genuinely surprised to hear Penn come to such a forward thinking conclusion. I've watched the majority of the Bullshit series, and he doesn't always come across as such.

Memory is something that is prime for offloading as far as our thinking goes. We have always been taking steps to do this. Storytelling is at the heart of humanity because it gives us a way to pass lessons on to younger generations. We developed written language to get stories out of our memories and onto something more permanent. In the modern day, we rely on written records scores of times every day.

To tie this into Penn's phone reference, how many phone numbers do you remember? The only two phone numbers I know that I've learned in the past 10 years are my current cell number and my office number. Beyond that, I remember my home number growing up, my aunt's number, and my best friend from high school's number. This is hugely beneficial. The effort I would need to exert remembering phone numbers is now available for other, more important tasks.

In college, we had only open book tests in my computer science program. The reason? At any time, if I need to know what the fastest sorting algorithm is, I can look it up and have the answer in 5 minutes. But if I need to figure out whether or not using a sorting algorithm is appropriate, more analytical and diagnostic skills are needed. Which is more important? I don't think it's debatable that knowing when it's appropriate to use something is more important than knowing exactly what that thing is. This is because it's easy to write down what the thing is, but in what situations it will be useful is a harder if not impossible job to write de facto laws on.

Someone with a poor education will attempt to win arguments by accessing facts online, but education doesn't teach you facts, which I think you're aware of from that statement. Education teaches you how to think. And you can't just pull out a fact and all of a sudden be right. Regurgitation of facts will never be a replacement for logic, experience, and education. I need to look facts up all the time. Yesterday I looked up statistics on shootings in Philadelphia. Do you think I could ever memorize how many there were in 2007, how many of those were of African Americans, and how many of those were of African American males? I could, but would there be any point to it? Probably not. However, the internet made those statistics available to me, and they were very useful for making a point in the discussion I was a part of at the time.

Thinking outside the human body is a wonderful gift. As interaction with this information becomes more seemless, we'll be able to offload more of the legwork to allow our brains to do what simple memory banks can't. Embrace it. It's one of the main devices that allows our silly little species to advance at the rate that we do.

Quantumushroom.... [s][e][c][r][e][t][s] (Lies Talk Post)

EDD says...

>> ^davidraine:
Whoa now. I'm not a fan of most of what qm says either but trying to dig out and expose personal information is out-of-bounds. Even though I feel he or she posts wild accusations without checking facts first (I've downvoted qm's comments for it more than once), he or she is still not directly going after other posters (to my knowledge). It also runs afoul of guideline 36.3 -- If disrespecting anonymity and cross-posting to unrelated videos isn't harassment I'm not sure what is.

>> ^NetRunner:
I think hunting down personal information about someone and posting it is out of bounds, no matter how irritable or misguided they are.

That's pretty hypocritical, coming from the VS community. We've had several instances with video of police brutality/power tripping where someone posted real personal details - full name, address, HOME phone numbers, email addresses etc. and I have never seen anybody objecting in any of those instances - the respective comments got handfuls of upvotes instead. And that was WAY, WAY beyond what vairetube did here, which was merely speculation about gender and approximate whereabouts and age ("Wow, people know I'm a 20-something male living in a city of several million - boy, I'm in trouble, they can find me so easily now!!!").

Also, it's the fucking internets, guys. Any personal info I put out there, especially as public profile info I realize CAN and MIGHT become public knowledge at any given time and nobody should harbor any illusions about that. Besides, it's not like a simple damn Google search for a username really constitutes "digging up personal info". Duh.

Personally, I think vairetube shouldn't have removed the 'info' on quantumushroom (which was probably false anyway, just like the rest of his/her usual array of 'facts') and that nobody should have discarded this even if it is a little pointless making a sift talk about it.

*edit
davidraine and NetRunner: please don't get me wrong - I am NOT saying you're hypocrites. I don't know what your reaction to the couple of cases I mentioned was. I only meant to say that the community has obviously reacted somewhat differently in a similar situation because the 'victim' is a member of the Sift.
