Democrat voter has strong message for Biden

newtboy says...

This is not a Democrat any more than Diamond and Silk. This is a paid political actor. Far from the first Fox put on the air pretending to be a Democrat.
Every “complaint” is a dishonest Right wing talking point not based in reality.

Biden allowed trans women in sports!? Exactly how did Biden do that? Precisely when? Exactly what was his personal act that suddenly allowed that when it was disallowed before? Odd, since trans women have publicly participated since 75 and the Olympics allowed them since 2004.

Afghanistan….as mentioned above, set up by Trump and the Taliban after Trump had thousands of Taliban fighters released from prison that immediately attacked Afghanistan. There was no other way that would go but a faster, more chaotic withdrawal earlier like Trump agreed to (but made no efforts to plan).

Critical Race Theory?! Of course, this Republican shill misrepresents what it is and where it’s taught. He doesn’t like how racial sensitivity divides us, but has no issue with the Republican laws being enacted that outlaw making white people feel uncomfortable. I defy him to define critical race theory and tell me where children are being taught that class. They can’t.
Next he tries the 2020 Trump position, Covid isn’t dangerous, there shouldn’t be ANY pandemic response, and all the dead are now Biden’s fault because he did something to mitigate damages and slow the spread.

Next he claims that Democrats have moved so far LEFT that they aren’t recognizable, but in reality the Democrats have moved far to the right for decades and the right has taken a rocket sled into far far FAR right wing insanity…..so far that they want to befriend communist/socialist Russia to spite the American leftists. WHAT!?

The fact that another paid political actor is willing to act a fool on Fox and lie through his teeth means nothing more than more evidence that they’re blatant liars and their audience are brain dead slugs that couldn’t critically think their way out of a wet paper bag. I’m looking at you, @bobknight33…trying the same old dishonest #walkaway nonsense that failed before. (Because they were all stock photos and paid actors)

California essentially banned them in grocery stores (oddly they still have free produce plastic bags) and charges $.10 for paper bags. It seems to be working.....

From 1 jan 2016 the Dutch government has obliged shops and restaurants to charge 10 cents for any plastic bag they give out.

https://www.government.nl/topics/environment/ban-on-free-plastic-bags

This means plastic bag use in supermarkets, shops and restaurants has fallen by 70%. It has also triggered shops and restaurants to be more aware. Disposable napkins, cutlery etc are only given when asked. Part of this was that it is a cost to the companies and the government made it socially acceptable, even hip, to take these out.

Videosifts Sarzys Best And Worst Movies Of 2015

Drachen_Jager says...

Have to disagree with Star Wars.

Without the massive appeal the series built, this movie wouldn't get many good reviews at all. The plot is an insane jumble of random events and plotholes that should have been embarrassing. To enumerate a few:

1) Randomly Melennium Falcon happens to be at the right place, right time (I can buy this, barely, because it's fun)

2) Before they can even have a full conversation (something the filmmakers seemed determined to avoid, even though, as this list shows, dialogue can make riveting cinema) HS and Chewie burst in. I could buy into this, if not for the rapid-fire pace of these events, as it is it just seems random and things are starting to get silly.

3) Before THEY can even have a full conversation not one, but two gangs HAPPEN upon the group, for no reason, except some executive was apparently worried about giving the audience a moment to reflect and MAYBE develop some connection with the characters.

4) Kylo Ren kicks ass. He's the only Force master EVER to stop a blaster bolt mid progress. He's got some serious juice!

5) Kylo Ren can't fight his way out of a paper bag (a bag named Finn) narrowly winning the fight and merely wounding the otherwise fairly useless ex-stormtrooper.

6) Kylo Ren is BEATEN by some chick with no training whatsoever! (Don't get me wrong, I like Rey, but the good guys are SUPPOSED to be weaker than the bad guys, and what's the point in Jedi training if she already kicks Evil's ass? )

7) WTF is up with this whiny Emo? He is, bar-none, the worst villain of the entire SW series thus far. It's not surprising that they defeat him, he's so useless, what's surprising is it takes them so damn long to beat his whining Emo shitty-at-lightsaber-duelling ass.

IMO the whole film was a hot mess that reeked of far too much studio interference which turns artistic vision into "more explosions!"

In summary, and this is totally true, my ten-year-old son, who loved the first 3 SWs (I won't let him watch the prequels) when asked what he thought of it replied, "Too many explosions." This is the mediocrity paradigm of big-budget Hollywood films at it's pinnacle.

There was an interesting comment on NC's list of links yesterday, comparing Trump to Berlusconi.

This part, for instance, is quite poignant:

The exquisite thing about the modern reality show campaign/administration is that you get to keep your vices and actually leverage them. No need to hide your underage prostitutes (or worse not have any) when you can make them part of the Grand Show. This weeks episode is “Virility. Got caught buying a parliamentarian with 1 mil euros in a paper bag? This weeks episode is “Cunning”.

police detaining a person for no reason

Well this is a very interesting video, because I'm trying to figure out wtf UTA stands for, I'm thinking it's Utah Transit Authority or something. So do they have a rule about not smoking on UTA property? That's got to be it.

I'm thinking these two male cops are thinking what a lot of male cops think, which is why the fuck did this little woman become a police officer.
But i got to cover her ass because she probably can't fight her way out of a wet paper bag. She probably needs to get into the DARE program so her biggest challenge is keeping 7 yr olds from putting boogers on her pantleg.

Of course, some women cops are pretty awesome, pretty fearless, and quite useful. Some, like I suspect this one, is pretty worthless.

I don't understand why they trespassed this guy from UTA property however. I just don't see how that's legal.

The whole interaction is quite irritating because I have to agree with the hoodie guy, nothing makes sense.

Which is fine as far as it goes, until he starts painting all cops are brainless gov't toads who sponge off the taxpayer etc etc etc. You lost me there, boss, because now you're insulting my avocation, in which I take a lot of pride.

Lemme give you an example of police work. Yesterday I helped a lady who had an auto accident, her brand new Mini Cooper got destroyed by some little juvenile driving a big ass Jeep Cherokee.

Today I assisted my Lt. with a neighbor complaint, some jerkoff who sounded like he had 18 Red Bulls for breakfast and wouldn't shut the fuck up had thrown a bunch of trash over a patio divider in an apt. complex because he thought his Latvian neighbor was making too much noise. Nobody got arrested, we were just there trying to resolve these two idiots from killing each other.

Then today I drove some old handicapped biddy 15 miles down the road so she could be with her husband who was having hip surgery. it took us a good 30 minutes to find out where the old codger was but we did it.

Two other officers responded to a family who called about their grown son who was off his meds and had a knife...we've been to this house dozens of times because the son is a fucking mental. I thought for sure this guy would get shot dead today, but turns out he was just arrested and transported to the PD for processing.

A couple of people got arrested for shoplifting, nobody got beat, they got a piece of paper with a court date on it.

etc etc etc

But no, this 'hispanic' dude has to jump to 15 conclusions about what ALL police officers do and it's total bullshit.

Dude, you're about as idiotic as these phony UTA cops.

I've often wondered what it that makes cats find boxes and bags so compelling. It must be some instinctive thing, but the only thing I can think of is wanting to dive into a rabbit hole or a rat hole to get at the treats inside. Mine generally seem to be in wiggly-haunches attack mode when diving into a paper bag, but I suppose it could be defensive evasive thing too. Or then again, maybe the Egyptians were just really good at animal husbandry and bread them to be self packing for when it came time to move or to be entombed with their owner.

that so looks like one of those toys you can get in the gag shops, the brown paper bag with a tail hanging out that rolls around on the floor! Oh, and I'm pretty sure that thing doesn't have a spine! *music

Yes, see the second link I put in later.

Also, keep following that road in streetview.

The satellite maps are probably too old to show it though... it looks like the roofing of the old buildings that they knocked down to build the crumpled paper bag building.

I was trying to use the satellite map to find that building. Couldn't figure it out. Any ideas?

Yes! I love the crumpled paper bag building

I haven't been back to Sydney since I heard about it, but I do plan to check it out when I next visit.

It's just near central station, https://goo.gl/maps/PgYSS and last time I was in Sydney I was actually at that station several times... I probably even saw the scaffolding and cranes for its construction, but didn't realise at the time

Gotta love that 'reasonable and prudent' caveat considering any cop on any day can decide that for you.

Handy Tip #87364: As a buffer to speeding or (other) citations, carry about ten used asthma inhalers in your on-board bag-o-tricks and when a cop pulls you over, dump 'em out on the passenger seat and floorboard and start hyper-ventilating through a paper bag as he approaches your vehicle.

Way to work the soft-tissue if they have any, a decent cop will give you directions to the closest drug store and let you go without a warning...

(I also keep live hornets in the trunk with a quick-release latch for similar, uncomfortable occasions).
