I don't disagree that weapons don't necessarily make anyone more free. I also can't say people are wrong to observe in a civil war level of unrest, a dissenting party armed with fully automatic weapons has more leverage than one armed with knives.

Freedom to practice religion is not 'fairly safe' without guns, unless you want to ignore attacks with cars, trucks, IEDs, and, historically, civilian airliners.

I am mostly pointing out that restricting laws on gun ownership to protect people is not so terribly different from limiting freedom to practice/express idealogies. It is readily demonstrable that BOTH those freedoms have directly contributed to civilian casualties.

The difference between say, banning automatic weapons, and the banning of affiliation with extremist groups like the KKK or ISIL is mostly divided along partisan lines, logically they are pretty much two sides of the same coin, with democrats and republicans each decrying one as necessary and the other as evil.

So this is basically the female version of John Wick but instead of a puppy getting killed it's going to be her ex? It's cool to have a female kicking ass and all, but I feel like they aren't treading any new ground here, as opposed to Furiosa in Mad Max who I found actually quite refreshing as a kick-ass female lead (and a one-armed one at that).

And why didn't the one armed man put the saucer down and pick up the cup. It's not like this is his first day with one arm.

Most of the models we drew in early college were older people, a really fat guy with a strange inverted penis, a black lady with an Asian dragon tattoo, a guy with one arm shorter than the other (we were told not to mention the arm and to try and draw it like a normal arm), a ripped Hispanic guy, a black guy with a pretty big dick, and, wow, the first time they let in a young attractive woman, I was so red in the face.

I was just used to drawing people I was not attracted to. My girlfriend at the time took life drawing, figure drawing, life sculpting, and human anatomy for the artist classes with me every semester so she totally noticed my reaction and was a little flustered by my obviousness. Ahhh, those were the days.

It's actually more fun and interesting to draw older and fatter people. You learn more about the skin and how it changes with varied bodies and age, similar to the draped cloth exercises in a regular old drawing class.

Don't get me wrong, drawing attractive models is awesome, but you don't get as much out of it as a progressing artist. You need to know varied forms, not just the acceptable Hollywood bodies which most people are NOT.

An electric fence isn't a whole lot, but that's a good way to kill yourself. You're forcing the current to travel from one arm to the other through your chest. Can mess with your heart that way.

Oh, sweet holy Jesus, I did this to my boss's wife, in a delivery job I had many years ago. I had to drive just out of the city on an appointment on a beautiful sunny day, and on the way back, she fell asleep in the passenger seat. At one point, when the road was all clear, I started screaming and swerving. Man, she sat bolt upright, had one arm pinned on the roof and the other on the dash and she joined me in the scream.

It was fantastic.

Same happened to poker in Poland. None of the legislators understood what it is, for them it was just gambling same to the one armed bandits in smoky bars, so they banned it... Similar thing happened to the betting legislation. Pity.

as an expert of avoiding doing two trips with shopping bags I can safely say that the pile of groceries would have been easily a one arm job.

The request was for "proper super-hero landing" not real world. I also merely admited I liked it. Something about a nano-tech reinforced belly flop from 25 stories speaks to me.


It wasn't a specific critique of your post, I just find it funny how the conversation surrounding things like this inevitably drifts to how it's impractical because of real world limitations... ; )
