Zero Punctuation - Call of Juarez Bound in Blood

HAHA! Wow America is so ignorant of themselves! (Wtf Talk Post)

Shepppard says...

heh, yeah, I remember old infomercials about how the testing is "Raising the Bar" for Canadian academics.

The tests themselves are pretty easy, and a nifty day off in some cases. For us in Canada..or at least, Ontario, we have grade 3 testing, which is a series of tests over 2 or 3 days, and grade 10 testing, which is a cluster of 5 exams over 1-2 days. While the grade 10s take these though, the rest of the school got the day(s) off. It was awesome.

Penn Jillette, John Stossel Debate Health Care on Glenn Beck

vairetube says...

If you haven't seen it, here is the obvious answer to the (R) claim about what Healthcare Reform will look like --- it is a nifty little flow chart showing how the CURRENT healthcare system works .. as of July 2009. Suck it in?

Dueling Health Care Flow Charts Reality vs. GOP Propaganda

Unfortunately, to rebuke the point being made by a flow chart, you have to produce an equally useless yet revealing piece of data....data on the level of the attack.

Luckily, this is one of the few times you don't have to sink too low to fight moron-fire with brain-fire. Those old assholes in congress are really pissing me off with their fucking chart (ie confusion) as the evidence to support a false claim. Yay, lies supported by confusion. Great progressive thinking that STILL grabs a near majority. Sickening. (which is unfortunate since i dont have insurance)

that may be the smartest thing ive ever heard.... i will use your idea as inspiration for projects when i get into upper level AI courses... man that will be a fantastic idea to bounce around with people who know more about implementing it. ill make sure to tell them "Gandhi" told me...

Obama yesterday mentioned that a opensource clearinghouse for virtual college courses is to be funded along with his comm. college stimulus, so that people can better receive education regardless of physical location -- i thought that was pretty nifty. sort of like the open MIT and such, only not school specific or owned.

we're on our way muchas gracias for your help and encouragement.

The part that interests me, and that the 'net is missing is:

"facilitate only logical discourse"

Creating a mechanism which allows the users to make any meaningful statement without being able to make statements which have rhetorical effect. If we can find a way to mechanically confine discourse to meaningful statements, without hobbling discussion, then we can trivially attach dis/proof to such statements and facilitate a progression of thought/discourse.

Everything else can be scraped off the 'net.

Traffic Pole vs Truck (Amazing!)

Jaace says...

Sweet! Now we can instantly stop an out of control truck carrying an explosive payload that is directly in front of one of these nifty, and I'm sure expensive, stopping poles!

PS: Wouldn't a huge wall that pops up be more ideal/safe for the surrounding area?

Also, whoever would be in the cab of that truck would most definitely die on impact...if they were going that fast.

Kitteh vs Helicopter

Llama says...

Yeah, I used to have a few of those nifty toys, but my brother's dog's bastid children were over one day when we had them out, and we discovered they like to leap up and snatch them out of the air. Those things weren't designed to take a beating. D:

As soon as I get over this not having money thing, I'd like to buy some more! They're really fun. Just don't try to take them outside.

Our newest Crowning has happened! Congratulations Mintbbb (Timeshift Talk Post)

mintbbb says...

Thank you, thank you! I am happy to wear my crown I guess I have been pretty speedy - mostly because I just spam the queue with 6 videos all the time. But hey, one has to have a hobby!

I may be the quiet one here, but I love VS and the people here! I might take a break soon, because I think I have a non-VS nervous breakdown coming up. But until then, I'll keep sifting

Since volumptuous asked: These days, every time I went somewhere that I needed to create an account, I was trying to be just 'Mint'. Yes, me and about 437 others, obviously.. I didn't want to be Mint438.. Figured 'mintbbb' would probably be free, and surprise, it was! So here I am: 'mintbbb' (wish I had at least done Mintbbb.. but oh well...)

SO, please, please, let the NEXT level ability -- whether it is 1500 videos, 2000 .. 5000, just PLEASE let us change/modify the username! I want to be just Mint, or Minty .. I'll even settle for Mint2!

Again, thank you everybody! It is an honor to wear this nifty crown, and also thanks for all the votes I have been getting!

"Perfect, Now what do they do with it?
The only thing I can think of is "Bon Fire""

I was thinking of using a reciprocating saw and make the world largest Paper Snowflake. Although anything with fire is nifty.
