Eddie Izzard on Guns and The NRA

spoco2 says...

Dangit... I was hoping to come here and read a whole bunch of gun nuts screaming blue murder about their favourite passtime... but instead we have juvenile dicks somehow having an issue with a man in a dress and makeup. Bloody hell, he's wearing clothes and makeup man...

I would find it amusing if you like Marilyn Manson or other heavy rockers who enjoy makeup, but draw the line here because it looks too womanly.

How does it make it hard to do a comedy routine dressed like this anyway? Are you that bedazzled by the outfit that you can't LISTEN TO HIS WORDS?

Man... you have issues.

Mickey Avalon - "Fuckin' Em All"

yourhydra says...

its funny but this guy actually gets a lot of chicks. I've been a fan of his since the beginning and hes actually pretty funny in interviews and seems like a decent guy...apart from being completely doped up and std ridden. Mickeys a true rags to riches story, even if hes not THAT rich. I rapped his "Mr. Right" for a talent show-ish event in high school...a great moment for me...errr

ps.(2:37 is very marilyn manson-esque especially if you see Dope Hat)

Hehe, love the Roy Orbison glasses.

They're just your standard Wayfarers... Audrey Hepburn, Kim Novak, Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, James Dean, John F. Kennedy, Roy Orbison, Andy Warhol, the Blues Brothers, etc....

Bettie Page dies at age 85 (Femme Talk Post)

I thought it was cool how her only request, in every interview, was that nobody took her picture. And basically nobody did.
I found one pic on the net of her with Hugh Hef, but I know what she means.
Don't we all want to be remembered for our best?
She was an icon just as great as Marilyn, or Chaplin, or Fields.
Her image will live on for many years.
I salute her.

Old people shouldn't be ashamed of their looks, these days there's a relative overvaluation of adolescence..each age has its specific merits..

Baby P - Our Child Services Are Failing Us Again

Irishman says...

This story has been exploded over every newspaper front page and been the lead story on BBC & UK TV news all of last week.

The newspapers would *love* to have mutilated child photos splashed all over their front page, but the CGI mockup is the best they have.

We have such an appetite for big controversial news stories, and if there's a taboo involved we can't get enough of it.

Tragedy! What can we blame it on this week?
Drugs?
Violent computer games?
The government?
Marilyn Manson?

Child murder and a social care institution it is then. The financial crisis and big bank stuff was getting boring anyway, at least this has a bit of *spice* to it.

It'll be hard to top this, come next Monday.

President-elect Barack Obama's acceptance speech

I was just thinking about how JFK was the last president to get this kind of response when he gave his nods to VP Biden. If that doesn't send a shiver down your back nothing will, here's hoping Obama lives a good long life.

And what exactly did JFK do for this country? (besides Marilyn Monroe, backing down from Russia, and running corrupt campaigns)
