Guardian: The madness of Bradley Manning?

shagen454 says...

I'm definitely on the guy's side and appreciate his leak - but he should have known that nothing can stop our military's corrupt power, they will stop at nothing in order to "try" to control our minds in order to control the world's resources in our favor (and in "our favor" I mean the upper-class (and they don't need help - the lower and middle classes need serious help because the "trickle-down system" is total bullshit)). His leaks will do nothing in order to correct or make the military humanly ethical. And that goes for our citizens as well. Yo livin' in a police state... well, unless you live in or hang out in a fancy neighborhood.

jUST BECAUSE i think you are neat, here you go. Gewd morning !, well that wont be happening here for another four hours, But I am tired, and quiet honestly that little video made me smile, I work nights and its winter and ALWAYS shitty. Edmonton sucks balls when it comes to winter happyness in this congested glib shit encrusted city. But I have a job. and not livin in my car like I was six months ago, fuck me I came a long way.

Underworld- Always loved a film

I saw this a little while ago. I like the song though I'm not a big electronica listening dude - but I really love the video. So much hope - good to see these guys livin' it up in their middle age. Never "grow" up and shed your hobbies.

Well when you're livin' in a pacman universe Enoch.. =]

Why waste your time contemplating divine concepts when contemplating practical ones give you more direct, less mysterious results?

people are different and we all appreciate, love and have a passion for many varying curiosities.
can you imagine how our world and society would be if there were people who did not think outside the box?
to reach and search for answers and understandings differently than the norm?
we wouldnt be talking on computers if they didnt.

i think our seeming disagreement is semantics.
when i use terms like "divine" or "spirit" ,you may perceive my usage from a different perspective.
that is the fundamental pitfall of language.

because..and i assume here..i really cant see you disparaging socrates or tsung, descartes or chardin.all of these men,in their own way..questioned the current belief system and in doing so CHANGED that belief system.

Thanks very much for the effort.

This song is probably blasting out every where in the world, but I just discovered it here in UFO country.

Happy New Year.

Well if I spell it out, if I get it out,
Will you hear me when I tell you about
What I have to say, before it gets too late?
It's not as easy as I said it'd be,
But there’s something right about you and me,
Something right about you and me.

Well you’re the color of a burning brook,
You’re the color of a sideways look from an undercover cop in a comic book
You’re the color of a storm in June,
You're the color of the moon.
You’re the color of the night, that’s right,
Color of a fight - you move me.
You’re the color of the colored part of The Wizard of Oz movie.

We're like Romeo and Juliet,
We're like 40 dogs, cigarettes,
We're like good times that haven’t happened yet but will.
And I can tell you where we're gonna be
When the whole world falls to the sea:
We’ll be livin’ ever after, happily.

All the boys taking you for granted,
Tell you what they want with their eyes all slanted.
I don’t like the way they look at you,
I don’t like the way they talk to,
I don’t like the way they talk to you.
I wouldn’t let 'em talk to you like that.

Put 'em up high, reach for the ceiling.
Tell them that I'ma walk, damn it, I'm real,
And it ain't no crime, it's just dreams we’re stealing -
Anything to get more of this feeling

You take the high and I'll take the low,
We'll get there before you know.
We ain't got no time to waste,
We got too much life to taste.

We're like Romeo and Juliet,
And 40 dogs, cigarettes,
We're like good times that haven’t happened yet but will.
And I can tell you where we're gonna be
When the whole world falls to the sea:
We’ll be livin’ ever after, happily.

Sometimes you remind me of a moonbeam,
On the ghost of a moonbeam out on the beach,
Down by the coast, slip into Manila,
Like the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Come out tonight, come out with me, baby.
We'll throw the careful into the crazy,
Turn the sky black into a sky blue,
Turn the close shave into a hoo-hoo.
What I say is true, make a fire, gotta burn a few,
Make a fire, gotta burn a few,
We can do what we want to do.

We're like Romeo and Juliet, 40 dogs, cigarettes,
We're like good times that haven’t happened yet but will.
I can tell you where we're gonna be
When the whole world falls to the sea:
We’ll be livin’ ever after, happily.

DJ Quik - Born And Raised In Compton

MrFisk says...

Now everybody wants to know the truth about a brother named quik
I come from the school of the sly, wicked and the slick
A lotta people already know excatly where it's at
Cause it's the home of the jackers and the crack
(compton) yeah, that's the name of the hometown
I'm goin down in the town where my name is all around
The suckers just be havin a fit, and that's a pity
But i ain't doin nothin but (claimin my city)
See, my lyrics i'm doublin up and provin to suckers that i can throw
I'm passin a natural ten or four or six or eight before i go
Yes, i'm definitely freestylin, all the while still profilin
Never a trickster, dj quikster steals the show
So now that's how i'm livin
I do as i please, you see
A younger brother that's up on reality
Cause everybody knows you have to be stompin
If you're born and raised in compton

Now compton is the place where the homeboys chill, you see
But then i found that it wasn't no place for me
Cause way back in the day somebody musta wanted me to quit
Because they broke in my house and cold stole my shit
They musta thought that i was gonna play the punk role
Just because my equipment got stole
But i ain't goin out like no sucker-ass clown
They found they couldn't keep a dope nigga down
So here's some bass in your face, muthafucka silly sucker-
Ass clocker, now you're duckin, cause you can't stop a brother
Like the quiksta, because i'm true to the game
You're lame, and things ain't gonn' never be the same
Cause a nigga like the quik is takin over
I really don't think i should have to explain
It, oh yeah, i'm a dog, but my name ain't rover
And i'm the kinda nigga that's feelin no pain
Sometimes i have to wear a bullet-proof vest
Because i got the 'cpt' sign written across my chest
A funky dope brother never ceases to impress
My name is dj quik, so you can fuck the rest
I'm comin like this, and i'm comin directly
Cause suckers get dain-bramaged if i'm doin damage quite effectively
Rhymin is a battlezone, and suckers have no win
Cause i'm a veteran from the c-o-m-p-t-o-n
Kick it

Townes van Zandt - Pancho and Lefty (live)

gwiz665 says...

Verse
D
Livin' on the road, my friend
A
Was gonna keep us free and clean
G
But now you wear your skin like iron
D               D/C#         D
/B             A
And your breath's as harsh as kerosene
G
You weren't your mama's only boy
               D           D/C#     D/B
But her favorite one, it seems
D
She began to cry
                   D/C# D/B A
When you said good bye
        G                    Bm
And sank into your dreams

Pancho was a bandit boys
His horse was fast as polished steel
Wore his gun outside his pants
For all the honest world to feel
Pancho met his match you know
On the deserts down in Mexico
Nobody heard his dying words
That's the way it goes

Chorus
G
And all the federales say
D              D/C#    D/B     D/A
They could've had him any day
D            D/C#    D/B    A
They only let him slip away
             G                Bm
Out of kindness, I suppose

Lefty he can't sing the blues
All night long like he used to
The dust that Pancho bit down south
Ended up in Lefty's mouth
The day they laid poor Pancho low
Lefty split for Ohio
Where he got the bread to go
There ain't nobody knows

All the federales say
They could have had him any day
They only let him slip away
Out of kindness I suppose

The poets tell how Pancho fell
Lefty's livin' in a cheap hotel
The desert's quiet and Cleveland's cold
So the story ends we're told
Pancho needs your prayers it's true,
But save a few for Lefty too
He just did what he had to do
Now he's growing old

A few gray federales say
They could have had him any day
They only let him go so wrong
Out of kindness I suppose
