Don´t put the kettle on!

"We don't know a lot about Barack Obama"

quantumushroom says...

(McCain) was a liar and a hypocrite throughout his entire campaign, and he was only truly the honorable, good man his die-hard supporters expected him to be after he finally lost.

The mushy McCain that liberals love is worthless to conservatives as well as liberty. Had he won, he probably would've been a quiet, lame duck prez, but nothing as bad as the sh-t storm that's coming.

There are plenty of stones to be thrown at media outlets on both sides of the political spectrum, but it's honestly a cheap shot to say, "We don't know Obama's world view." All they would have had to do was ask.

You and I are assuming that the mission of these so-called "journalists" is to report the news. Our assumption is dead wrong. Their first goal is to score ratings; they just happen to do it by pushing the agenda that is most dear to the hearts of 95% of American media.

We've got more than enough opinions...let's allow the facts to speak for themselves.

Believe me, I would like nothing more, but facts are enemies of much of liberal doctrine. 95% of Americans can't get an Obamian tax cut when 35% don't pay any taxes at all.

This is what softball liberal journalism yields, a cult-of-personality prez we know almost nothing about.

WHY ARE WE STILL IN IRAQ?!!! Dennis Kucinich

9058 says...

I noticed someone downvoted Memorares comment and I couldnt help but wonder why. Its true, the dems have always backed down to the president. I mean even they blast themselves for being spineless. Liberal comedians joke about how weak the dems are. So dont get mad at the truth that the chances that they will yet again continue to fund the war in an effort to remain in stride with the administration while at the same time saying how wrong it is is quite high. Bush's shitty reign has handed the country to the dems on a platter and they are throwing the chance away with the vague shit that they do while still bowing down to a lame duck president. Kucinich like Ron Paul tries to point this out and he gets black balled. He will never be VP either, didnt Obama take a shot at him in Lettermans Top 10? The only thing congress will do to try and show how much "power" they have is not give Bush all the money he wants. If he asks for 200 billion they will give him 190 billion like that really makes them tough.

Timeless Wisdom & Warnings from the Inventors of America

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security, will deserve neither, and lose both."

False Flags and invisible terrorists, razor-blade wielding zealots, who suddenly become expert pilots, two towers soon to cost a millionaire, millions more, the largest infrastructure on the planet stands to gain billions with such a small sacrifice (few thousand monkeys), protracted wars and lame duck pigs, denial denial denial, the siren script of defective process-6 years and counting, the more time that passes, the fewer who are even capable of deriving meaning from meaninglessness, and the more there will be who would gladly turn in their own mother to the authorities for the sake of their own, pathetic fear-

Again-a rag-tag group of precision towelheads made two skyscrapers, and another 47-story drop, into their footprints, and another "jet" hits the pentagon.......

People are so easily duped, no wonder this country is on the fucking brink.......

Ah well, Nibiru will even the playing field. Better take that vacation you have been putting off-cash in that 401K baby, while you can.

The Daily Show: Obama talked to Americans like adults

dgandhi says...

MG: Remember last time when we got to vote for a turd sandwich or a giant douche?

While I think that Sen Clinton is so wrapped up in the DNC political machine that she resembles that situation, I don't see that from either McCain or Obama.

Remember being president means:

1) making emergency decisions
2) getting the rest of the government to do their jobs consistent with your policy intentions.

#2 is basically charisma and speaking skills, Obama wins that over the other two hands down, and that matters.

I would say all three standing candidates are far and above the options in 2004, in terms of ability. But it does not matter how able a "decider" the president is, if s/he can't get the rest of the government to fall in line the presidency is lame-duck from day one.

Also note, if a Dem get in the WhiteHouse you can expect "the unitary executive" and "signing statements" to be ruled unconstitutional within months by the Supreme Court, so Obama or Clinton will actually have to do their job instead of just ignoring everybody else(and the law), as W has done.

Ron Paul is insane

Crosswords says...

I think only the die hard Bushies and neo-con republicans think Ron Paul's view on the Iraq war is radical. It's his other views many people take exception to and call radical.

Ron Paul's views would be great if we lived in a society where most everyone did the right thing and worked for the common good of society. I don't think we live in such a society. If the market were truly free as Ron Paul suggests it should be, it would be a race by the major corporations to see who could create the biggest monopoly. The argument is that competition will rise up, but it's pretty hard for competition to be created when some other company controls all the infrastructure. You think AT&T is going to let anyone else use it's phone lines? The only reason the are competing companies to AT&T right now is because they're forced to share their lines with other companies, by *gasp* the federal government.

The other part is civil rights, Ron Paul himself has said he doesn't think the courts should have had anything to do with the civil rights movement, instead suggesting the changes should have been made locally. Locally?! Locally they were busy beating the crap out of peaceful protesters, turning fire hoses and dogs on them for daring to say they deserved equal treatment. How long was that supposed to go on until something happened locally?

The federal government is there to step in when state and/or local systems of government fail to take action or can't in the interests of citizens well being. Just as the legislative, executive and judicial branches of the federal government act as a check and balance against each other, so do the state governments and the federal government act as a check and balance against each other. If you neuter the federal government as Ron Paul suggests you destroy the ability for the federal government to act as a check on the state governments.

I'm not suggesting our current system is perfect, but its far from completely defunct. From my stand point a few things have happened, one ideological view took control of the federal government. Things went to shit in a hand basket and now the country has collectively shifted it away from ideology. The executive branch was granted/took way too much power, I see this swinging back to a state of normalcy. Bush is already effectively a lame duck president, though he still wields his "executive privilege" like a shield. I think trying to fix what we have is a much more sensible solution than essentially scrapping everything.

I agree with Ron Paul on Iraq and I think history does indeed show that he was and is right about it. Not just with the outcome of Iraq, but the outcome of similar wars and the history of the region. I don't agree with him on other issues, I feel history has proven him wrong in that it has taken a strong federal government to push us past important mile stones as a nation.
