Water flowing into the cruise ship Costa Concordia.

ReverendTed says...

Took a cruise on a Carnival ship a year or two back. While everyone else was at the casino or one of the dance clubs, my hobby was to wander the public areas of the ship. On the plus side, egress from the lower decks is pretty straightforward because the layouts are pretty simple, like you see here - long hallways of rooms serviced by two or three main stairwells (and usually a couple of smaller stairwells near the ends).
I think what we may be seeing here is that these guys want to get from one end of the ship to the other, and they're on one of the entertainment decks that are a little more convoluted in layout, so it's simpler to head down to one of the hotel decks and across to the other main staircase.
As I recall, the safety instruction was as cursory as you might expect: "The life jackets are in your closet, now lets all go meet in our designated meeting spots; ok have fun." The assumption was you'd head to your "rally point" and the trained crewmembers would direct you from there, presumably to a nearby lifeboat.

That Samsung monitor looks like the same one I bought that is now sitting in my hallway on the floor. It's a 1080P panel with HDMI but cant properly run at full resolution with a DVI adapter and has the WORST up/down angle LCD color and contrast distortion, and a horrific control setup with "touch sensitive" controls that are a pain in the ass to use. All around the worst monitor I have ever purchased.
Judgement: Monitor probably improved.

They're Samesung now!

They left a $4200 (+tax) software delivery (IE they basically delivered a card with a serial # on it) sitting on the floor in the hallway outside my apartment as it was a copy of the local coupon rag.
From the same experience, I'll also never give any more money to:
3VIZ Software (Canadian distributor of Autodesk.. based on my dealings with them I'd be surprised if they're still in business... bunch of fuck-heads they are).
Autodesk (Makers of 3DS MAX... pick terrible distributors and now call me every four months to harass me about costly upgrades and "subscriptions" that I'll never buy.)(also consistently set deadlines for the upgrades and subscriptions that are totally imaginary).
FUCK YOU UPS
FUCK YOU 3VIZ
EAT A FUCKING COCK AUTODESK

Something in this vein happened with UPS almost three years ago and it still makes me so fucking mad when I think about it... I will never use UPS again. Fuck you UPS you useless cunts.

One time a UPS delivery girl dropped off my package and as I watched her from the window, her not noticing, she walked by my sprinklers which were on and saw one was broken. She bent down and fiddled with it for a good 30 seconds until it was fixed and sprayed correctly, I thought that was the sweetest thing ever.

They must like me because I'm such a pleasant person...staring at them through my window like a creeper.

Cat Answers Phone

ulysses1904 says...

My brother's cat would do something like this. If nobody was home it would knock the phone off the hook when it rang, then drag the coiled phone cord with its teeth as far as it could stretch it. My brother would come home to find the handset in the next room or down the hallway, pretty funny.

College degree joke, Sperm joke, Death Penalty joke .. but it all worked out

"I really didn't know how bad things were until the cameras went off. The smiles immediately disappeared from the hosts' faces, and they wouldn't even look at me. I began to walk back towards the green room when a crazed woman started frantically calling me out into the hallway. I knew it was about to hit the fan because the crew wouldn't even look at me-They knew I was about to get pounded.

The woman shook my hand, introduced herself as the Executive Producer, and said, "You really just f**ked us bad." The next few minutes I was kind of in shock, like after a car accident, and as she was escorting me out of the building she was yelling about how sponsors would back out, "This was the worst f**king sh*t that had ever f**king happened to them," etc. Basically, telling me that I had destroyed NBC 10. Perhaps all of television!

Well, the whole thing is funny now. It wasn't that day, though, and she almost f**ked me over that night at Helium because I was an anxious wreck the rest of the day. I kept picturing all of these children spending the next few years in intense therapy, right next to the children of people killed on 9/11, and those kids would be thinking, "Jesus, we really don't have it bad at all; these kids are really messed up!"

But I got my sh*t together (kind of), and after some booze I did a pretty awesome set in front of friends, family, and a large crowd of strangers."

if anyone is interested. this song was produced from idea scratchpad until final master in Nuendo, using TONS of native instruments FM8 synths. The video was filmed in the hallway outside my studio, the lights we used are just stuff from ikea, and i filmed with a little sony handycam video edited in sony Vegas with piles of newbluefx in it.

Yes. Now can you please upload the vid so I can be bad too?

>> ^Xaielao:

I once saw this show with a little dog with severe of nacrolepcy. When ever this dog would get excited, it would fall asleep. So as you can imagine a puppy gets excited a LOT. So this little guy would go screaming down a hallway toward something or someone and half way they'd just slump over and slide for a few feet. It was terrible but also.. extraordinarily funny.
Does that make me a bad person?
