Female Circumcision from the POV of women...

Farhad2000 says...

*nochannel *femme *worldaffairs *news

Let me clarify a few common misconceptions.

1. Female circumcision predates the rise of Christianity and Islam.

2. There is no requirement for female circumcision in the Qu'ran nor in any Hadithas.

3. In Egypt, mufti Sheikh Ali Gomaa stated: "The traditional form of excision is a practice totally banned by Islam because of the compelling evidence of the extensive damage it causes to women's bodies and minds."

In March 2005, Dr Ahmed Talib, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at Al-Azhar University, stated: "All practices of female circumcision and mutilation are crimes and have no relationship with Islam. Whether it involves the removal of the skin or the cutting of the flesh of the female genital organs... it is not an obligation in Islam." Both Christian and Muslim leaders have publicly denounced the practice of FGC since 1998.

4. However this is an old regional and cultural practice that seeps into societies, sometimes under the guise of Islam. Like many other stupid practices that somehow become Islamic because some idiot mullah or imam says so. On Wiki: "Despite laws forbidding the practice, FGC remains an enduring tradition in many societies and cultural groups. Political leaders have found FGC difficult to eliminate on the local level because of its cultural and sometimes political importance"

5. Most Islamic scholars or advocates of this practice are woefully ignorant and refuse to abide by the clear evidence that FGM is not obligatory or required in the Islamic faith.

Son of Hamas Leader: Hamas Atrocities Led Me to Convert

if sumone is religouse it shows thay are not exactly grate at waying up evidence and bing sceptical to something untill there is good evidence to belive in it.

I would still have to give the gentleman a lot of credit for having left Islam. Apostates have a death sentence on their heads that is mandated in the Haditha:
'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.' Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57:
Add to that the danger of getting out of a criminal gang like Hamas (Makes quitting the Bloods or Crips look like ditching out on a D&D game).

And he left Islam for Christianity, which as a whole no longer kills people for religeon's sake. Not to say people that are Christian don't kill, but they don't do it over theological differences anymore. The "Slaves of Allah" routinely cut off heads, because they take the Koran literally.
"I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" Koran 8.12

iCasualties.com reports and visualizes Iraq war deaths (Military Talk Post)

Farhad2000 says...

Common misconception about combat loss statistics is that coalition deaths are more frequent then injured or wounded. The reality is modern technology like the flak jacket and CAS has allowed the military forces to sustain far fewer deaths but result in higher numbers of injured and wounded.

While the flak jacket provides good protection of the core of the body it does nothing for the extremities, so wounded who would have died in Vietnam now return with horrible disfigurement or loss of limbs. This is counted as injured or wounded but gives no indication of the extent of the problem.

Combat loss statistics also do not account for long term psychological damage incurred by those who return with PTSD, those who are diagnosed with PTSD and are treated internally now withing the military while on deployment.

All this information can be heard first hand from individuals who were deployed from http://www.videosift.com/video/The-Ground-Truth

Coalition deaths are down, but only because the military has now itself restructured it's approach towards dealing with the enemy via the hearts and mind program that was not in place as a directive from the beginning of the war. Several missteps by the CPA has actually meant the military had to deal with far more resistance then before. Let us also remember that combat loss statistics don't give us any bearing on the resistance or firefights faced by the military forces.

Am not surprised that civilian deaths are not counted, there is no system in place to do so, up until the Haditha incident US forces counted civilian causalities as collateral damage without thinking how its approach would lead to such deaths in the first place. Its only now that non-ROE engagement of civilians results in a full investigation, while this blankets anyone who engaged civilians with limited intelligence under a engage all ROE standing.

Limited deaths ultimately are not a victory. People still are dying.

Islam conquering England

Farhad2000 says...

Oh really Evangelicals didn't support a current war against the Axis Of Evil? You never heard Jerry Fallow or Pat Robertson speaking out against striking against the Ayerabs? George Bush had God tell him to go to war, he was on a mission from Gawwwd.

Religious involvement in geopolitical events is all a matter of perspective.

With regards to religious extremism in Europe ha! That's less to do with religion then with anti-reactionary attitude against immigrants who are coming into the nation. Every anti western cleric has been deported from the UK. You know what else you got after 7/11 British Government encroachments on personal freedoms, go near any US airfield, you will be arrested, protest near parliament, you will be arrested. Don't worry about them they got a police state there, CCTV all over the cities that magically took only 3 photos of the 7/11 bombers. Muslims actually have cloaking technology.

You don't see the governments complaining, I wonder why it is? Oh surely they have been brainwashed by Wizards of Islam. The reason they don't interfere is because Europe is a declining population growth, they need labor to do the jobs Europeans don't want to do, just like in the States. Welcome to capitalism and labor mobility.

I love how you want to say that world events are somehow driven by people's wishes, beliefs and feelings. No, its all about money. Labor mobility is a big plus for old Europe. That's why you don't see these states implement massive immigration restrictions, which they would do overnight. Instead we are seeing the implementation of the European Blue Card.

You fail to see the complexity of world events and choose just a narrow view of clearly these people are out to kill everyone. Also don't you happen people are pissed? Western world has invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, both nations are still worse off. Both invasions has pushed massive refugees into other states. Palestinians are still getting killed as are civilians in both conflict zones. You know that US Forces up until the Battle of Haditha looked at civilian casualties as normal events in a time of war?

ElJardinero, wow, really Islams chop people hands off in all Islamic states? I should really tell people in Turkey, Indonesia, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Yemen, Egypt. That's Saudi Arabia my friend, you know the nation that is supported by the Democratic states of UK and USA, the bestests of friends of the Western Worldz! You know they wanted to lash a woman for getting raped? Who kept mum on that? The US government whose own human rights charter KSA has been breaking year on year.

Religion as I say again is a apparatus of control in both Iran and Saudi Arabia, designed to keep an elite in power through religious terrorism. Islam has nothing to do with it, its simply a tool of power in the same way Catholicism, Protestant and many other faiths are used to justify killing human beings. The Ireland conflict and the war in Bosnia was based around religion, you people seem to forget that. Its just history repeating.

But go ahead. I live in Kuwait and we make alot of money feeding and supplying the US armed forces. I feel fucking sorry for the young men getting killed there fighting a war that has no aim.

Ehren Watada refuses to de deployed to Iraq

ROFL @ 12%

"What...did Iraq do to our nation..."

At the time of invasion, it was reported they had WMDs. Other than that, they did nothing. Especially now that even that has been proven wrong.
I never said that our entry into the war was justified. At most, we get in there, oust the bastard, find out there are no WMDs and say "Oh shit, guess we were wrong." and get out.
And as far as the whole war crimes thing: I was referring to events such as Gitmo Bay and Haditha.
