Prosecution of Julian Assange/Attack on Freedom of Speech
TLDW, but it should be pointed out that Assange was set to be prosecuted for helping Manning break into secure government computers, not posting the info Manning got on his own.
Perhaps that's no longer the case, but people have mistakenly said his prosecution was an attack on free speech since his arrest on those charges...when really it was an attack on hackers.

Black Mirror — Now Entering the Twilight Zone
My personal favourite was Hated in the Nation. I can totally see it happening. Hard science fiction, almost no science fantasy. A.I. and autonomous drones, nihilistic hacker. Awesome.
Chaos, that hole completely dropped me out of it.
Callister was great apart from one massive plot hole:

Reminds me of the very realistic hacking portrayed in the classic film Hackers.
The Tragedy of Jon Stewart
At this point, I'm fairly certain Bob is really a Russian hacker/propagandist named Dimitri posing as an insulting parody of the worst kind of hyper partisan willingly gullible American "conservative".
You forget that Bob's one of the Foxnews wingnuts. He wouldn't know real news if it fucking bit him. When all you watch is fictional propaganda, then of course comedy and satire seem like just another flavor. All that matters in his view is the end slant...if it's "for" the GOP, then it's good, otherwise it's a lie.
Donna Brazile: HRC controlled DNC and rigged the primary
To be fair :
There is no evidence that any hack was by request (* The "Russia, find the 30'000 missing emails, and share them with the FBI" statement was in reference to the emails deleted from the private server - not DNC related). There is plenty self interest to motivate such a hack without anyone asking for it. Especially if the hacker's election favorite is Trump.
The election interference rhetoric started when the email hack was the only item blamed on the Russians.
-scheherazade
If that was the only Russian interference, you could have a point, but hacking and releasing her (and the DNCs) emails (assumed to contain top secret information) at Trump's public request was only one (two) of thousands of illicit things they did.
Ever wonder how cryptocurrencies actually work?
Good post, I was just looking into how Bitcoin works a week ago and this video helped solidify what I learned online. I can see the appeal of cryptocurrencies to criminals, hackers, or your garden variety government conspiracy theorist but I don't really see why an average person would have any interest in this, particularly given the volatility of the exchange rates between cryptocurrencies and the real world or the potential for hacking/losses due to errors in the system (see the disastrous Mt. Gox case here in Japan).

Kangaroos Invade Golf Course
Dude! Thats nuts!!!!
Your backswing is too abbreviated, open your hips more on the backswing to produce higher club head speed. Keep your feet planted and your knees bent and hit down on the ball...
Sorry, was there something else happening in this video other than the hacker swings?

Glenn Greenwald on Russian Hacking (Zero Evidence)
Just to point out, both of those are PURE opinion pieces with no evidence, and the Bloomberg report sites information it claims it got from a report that did not yet exist when it was written, that report was made public on Friday, the 6th, but the article was published on the 2nd....and even then it was full of conjecture, supposition, and misdirection (like saying "Xagent, a backdoor firmly associated with attacks by a hacker group linked to Russian intelligence -- the one known as Advanced Persistent Threat 28 or Fancy Bear -- could be used by pretty much anyone with the technical knowledge to do so. "
This ignores the fact that only one security firm claims to have been able to retrieve that code (without proof or ability to use it?) and they had a full internet security companies resources. No one besides Russia has ever actually been caught USING it.
So don't trust the cia...but also don't trust biased opinion pieces on the internet.

Is There a Russian Coup Underway in America?
Do you get your info from, faux or Trump?
I'm...wow...where to start?
"Neo-liberals" are anti war, so positive peaceful relations are what they're after, not illegal collusion and absolute capitulation to our (and our allies') detriment. The 'neoliberals' didn't even use the military to protect the Ukraine, even though we are bound to do so by treaties.
War profiteering companies are almost 100% owned and run by neocons, not liberals.
There is proof, publicly released proof. There is not yet a completed report submitted to congress, those take time to put together, verify, edit, recertify, sign off, and submit. 17 intelligence agencies have publicly stated they have plenty of 'proof', some hackers have gone on record as working on this project for the Russians at their direction, the methods and programs used have easily identified 'fingerprints' from previous Russian hacks.
The contents of the emails were completely innocuous, with absolutely no smoking gun. If you think differently, I think you've been duped by the fake news industry.
'No one cares' about the RNC emails because the Russians didn't release them, they weren't trying to hurt Trump, he's their dream president, a moron under their thumb that doesn't understand the idea of diplomacy, much less how to practice it. (That no one cares is totally not true, btw, I care...I even care that they were hacked, but I care far more that they were protected and helped repeatedly by a foreign nation they invited to illegally become involved in our election with the clearly stated intention of skewing our election for their benefit).
Sweet zombie Jesus, if Clinton had won after asking a national enemy to illicitly and illegally help her like Trump did, the right would be inconsolable and frothing at the mouth calling for revolution and blood.
I'm intrigued to hear you say this. To me it looks more like the neoliberal elite lashing out because Trump won and now they want to make his life as difficult as possible. They especially don't want someone to go making peace with Russia, perish the thought. They must have an enemy to make wars with, or else how else will they make those juicy profits?
There's no proof Russia did it, but even if they did it was the contents of the e-mails that was the problem not the hack. Members of the RNC got hacked too but no one cares because their emails were so boring.
