Tainted Love on Hard Drives - No Clever Title Included

spawnflagger says...

It's likely an Arduino board in the middle running code specifically written for this. I've seen similar projects. Some actually use custom MIDI files (1 "instrument" per drive), others have the songs coded by hand (C, python, etc).

I just posted another video that has a good explanation:

Burned by McDonald's Hot Coffee

entr0py says...

Yeah, it's also literally undrinkable when you're handed a cup at that temperature. Attempting to drink it won't burn you as badly as if it seeps into your clothes, but first degree burns on your tongue is not a good time. Brewing temperature and serving temperature should be entirely separate.

And, for all the bullshit she went through, I do think this woman eventually changed things. If you go to McDonalds now, you still won't get good coffee, but you will get it at a reasonable temperature and with a sturdy cup and lid. And, whatever cream and sugar you want is already added, so you don't have to immediately do surgery on a floppy cylinder of lava resting between your legs.

190 degrees may be the ideal temp for extraction, but what Mc Dickheads and the rest of the bath-water brew-drinkers at truck stops and corner markets fail to give a fuck about is the flavor of the undrinkable swill after it's SAT AFTER BREWING at a constant 190 degrees in those giant auto-brewer/hoppers for hours. Their "standards" are shit just like their food is poison.

Judgement for the plaintiff for poor choice in a place to buy coffee-esque, sub-critical temperature liquids from.

McDonalds handed a cup full of 3rd degree burns to a couple of ladies, and balked at her injuries is the real issue-They sucked then, and suck now, faceless, corporate balls.

People are retarded and need to be schooled on where to get real coffee along with good food and how to enjoy them both.

Anyone who thinks people shouldn't sue the shit-out of a death-dealing corporate monster like McDonalds constantly for anything including crimes against humanity, has already drunk the Kool-Aid.
The same people who fed on the media-hype when this happened have had their world-views shaped by the same entities who spun this story in McDonald's favor.

Fuck mickey-d's, this woman and her deceased mother are heroes.

There are still out there. I still have them at work and on my old box at home. No, you can't have mine. You can get an external floppy drive with USB connector.

I don't know where I'd get access to a floppy drive to copy it.

After he lost in court, the guy bragged to others that he had damaged the hardware he sold me in the hopes it would keep me from launching.

He always thought he was some bigshot that everyone looked up to, so it's not surprising that he blabbed to every other sysop in the area. Unfortunately for him, the truth was that everyone thought he was a blowhard. Most of the sysops were friendly with me because I did a lot of free ANSI screens for them just because I enjoyed it, so it didn't take long for the news to get back to me from multiple sources.

You should upload a zip of that program to the internet!

Then post your story and a link to the software over on http://forums.zdaemon.org/

Mieders Alpine Coaster - Frustrated Guy Crashes

newtboy says...

OK, I watched at full res/screen a few more times...they all slow down and stop again shortly after the 'crash' and she's all floppy, then her friends release their brakes but she holds hers a few seconds to give some space between her and the one in front, then she releases her brake, partly. All that time she's flopped over like she's out, but she must have some control or she would still be on the bumper of the guy ahead.
I don't mean to say I think it didn't hurt, just that I didn't think she was completely knocked out when it looked like she was. So I'll retract "faking it" and replace with "exaggerating it".
Also, I don't think she did it on purpose, but she rear ended the guys (apparently her friends) in front of her who had stopped, again.
Admittedly, right after the crash she is on his bumper, but he does not seem concerned in the least and leaves her flopped over, like he knows something. She may have really been out for a few seconds, but I think not as long as she made out. If she is really hurt, isn't her 'friend' still the real douchebag? First for stopping short in front of her without any warning, causing the crash at least in part, and second for not helping his friend when she rear ended him 'unconscious', but instead just riding on?
The guy in back was 'tailgating' a bit, but did not seem to hit her intentionally and had no chance to brake, and may have not had enough time the first time he hit her either. Those brakes are just friction brakes, they don't stop on a dime, especially if you're a full grown man. (agreed, that's a good reason to not tailgate at full speed, so they're all douchebags?)

I thought she was right on the tail of the guy ahead of her. It seemed like she was basically connected to his ride for the duration of it.

I accept I could be wrong. I'm not so suspect of people as that, and definitely didn't have that conclusion. If I were to extrapolate on that line of thinking I would still disagree because I'd expect anyone who would have the gall to do that in the first place wouldn't then get off the ride and walk meekly away knowing that the guy who rammed her that hard (and it was hard, regardless of the effect) was going to be stopping just behind her.

All types of people in this world, so could go either way, but I personally think the assumption she's faking it is absurd. The number of people who are that shitty is pretty low, at least statistically and empirically, and I doubt someone like that would enjoy a nice roller-coaster down a hillside in the first place.

Well, this is interesting.

I agree with all of @dystopianfuturetoday's general guidelines. I also agree with @bareboards2's observation that we can't really know what the original video was for sure.

But, it looks to me as if @LadyBug put the original tags on the video and they only confuse me.
I didn't know this song--or band--so I looked up the wiki.
The tags "floppy" and "fish" seem to point to the original music video--also the thumbnail from @rasch187's fix is from the original music video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERTT_sv8sV0 -- embedding disabled).
The tags "Chile" and "1991" seem to refer to this live recording (or a similar live recording).
The music video was recorded in 1990--not in Chile.

One thing I can say is that @chingalera really does care (no matter what he says) and wants to do the right thing. He didn't have to point out this possible wrong video fix--but he did.
What a mensch.
