OK thanks for the screenshot. It's like playing whack-a-mole with these asshats.>> ^paul4dirt:

@dag http://www.flickr.com/photos/paulvandijk/7206161004/in/photostream this was one. sounds start, starts with a popup like this. (this is one for a dutch supermarket branche but there were others before)
if i click it it minimizes to a small screen somewhere in the right panel but the sound continues. EXTREMELY annoying.

Another Idiotic Crime Committed in America

It was 65 degrees that night. I've lived in florida, that is not "fucking cold" weather.

Edit: I looked at the other link, and this other expert claims Zimmerman says "fucking punks". So two enhanced sound tracks with two experts with two different conclusions. Doesn't sound like an exact science to me.>> ^chilaxe:

The audio has since been clarified, but even in the beginning the "coon" claim was speculative.

Zimmerman campaigned in the past on the side of African-Americans in his community against the local police department. For some reason that gets left out of these narratives.
Science is best left to data, which is always more interesting than evocative narratives that pick and choose.
But the point is that nobody can change that you can put any gang member or someone who thinks of themselves in that way in a gated community and you get the same results. And on the other hand, if you put Herman Cain's son (2nd from right) there, who probably doesn't have a gold grill and gang-like tattoos and doesn't like to fight, you get entirely different results.

No, you get the same result. It could be young Obama, and you get the same result. That's the thing about racism: it is based solely on appearance. Any interpretation of behavior is influenced by pre-conceived bias.

Also, stop blaming the victim! You can pull up facebook photos and youtube videos of young people of every race imitating rap stars. It doesn't make them gang affiliated.

Had me until he accelerated with his hand off the throttle!

And went into a pitch black tunnel with no headlight. Little things like that take me out of this. Foliage in the high rises was major overkill,(full trees? Seriously?) the chaser plane and even the seeker missiles it dropped had apocalyptic rust on them...

You guys didn't get that he was some kind of cyborg that controlled technology with his hands? And yes, given enough time, trees will grow anywhere.
I would be more skeptical of a skinny hipster surviving the apocalypse, along with his own suicidal style of motorcycle riding.

Exactly. Or he simply could see because of the bright light of the drones!

The real funny thing was, that his bike had perfect traction on a road with decades of dirt, plants and potholes created by the plants - with tires that seemed to be at least 40 years old.

Videosift 5.0 Request: Allow block of user Avatars (Terrible Talk Post)

oritteropo says...

The ad blocker privoxy would allow you to do this. You can choose to only block images which match the pattern of http://videosift.com/avatars and use the replacement image of your choice. I have even found one which would appear to meet your requirements - http://www.flickr.com/photos/lauratrevey/3776628636/

My VS 5.0 feature request is the ability to upvote or downvote avatars. The orange in particular would get my upvote
>> ^Ryjkyj:

I'd like to request a feature that turns all the VS avatars I see into bulging, blue cocks. Thanks.

Ooooo, we took down websites! We are more powerfull than... umm... those guys in Beat Street that tagged NY subway trains...

Until websites become the black, oozing, horrific monsters in Neuromancer, it's just graffiti.

I was just thinking that to myself earlier, but when they mentioned artists, musicians and writers it struck a kind of chord. It's interesting that they appeal to those targets. Because i guess if you were gonna try and force a real revolution of modern youth, then you'd really need bands growing up making songs about your cause, blogs, tweets, facebook, flickr.. All of those things, most of modern youth culture is intertwined with the internet and communications, so i have to say... maybe they're not so stupid afterall, maybe the internet is a pretty good place to start a "revolution".
