Duke Nukem Forever trailer
Wow! That looks... surprisingly bad. All those years for that? It's not much footage obviously, but what is there looks disappointingly generic, and an awful lot like Prey -- I think they may have "borrowed" some of the assets from that game. Duke Nukem 3D is still one of my favourite FPSes, but man... I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced. The last trailer (as dated as it looks now) looked way better than this. So disappointed... urge to kill... rising...
Bang! - Banned XBox360 "Shootout" ad from 2005
Yeah, this died in the queue a week ago. I'll say the same thing here that I said there:
"Jump in." Hmm.. I remember gaming before it was cool to game. Command and Conquer for DOS anyone? How about Doom? Duke Nukem 3D?
And more 'recently': I remember playing Total Annihilation and being bummed that I couldn't use that awesome map because I didn't have 16 MB of RAM. Or maybe Carmen Sandiego? Oregon Trial? Those were the days.
I think the first computer game I ever played was "sopwith camel" on our Tandy 1000.
But I'm not sure that a commercial that depicts the country as trigger happy people is a smart move for a console company. More fuel for the "Video games make people violent" morons.
Halo: The Future of Gaming
Hahaha the Rise of the Triad demo came on the Duke Nukem 3D CD...ahhh the memories

Terra Nova : Strike Force Centauri
This game didn't do okay at all, it was released around the same time as Quake and Duke Nukem 3D. Though I personally thought this was better then either. One of the first LGS projects to go red and eventually cause their fall.
Cabbage Defense Weapon - The Mossberg 590
GOD, these sound clips are a mix of Doom I and Doom II and Duke Nukem 3D, why am I the only one who knows this.
Duke Nukem Jam
This is fake, well sort of. Megadeth did a version of Grab Bag (the Duke Nukem 3D theme song) and this guy has simply done a video of himself playing the guitar with that song in the background. There's another video floating around where a guy really did do his own version of the Duke theme and its noticeably different than this version.
Here's a link to 3DRealms' site where they give you a link to a sample of it, aside from the vocals IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME AUDIO AS THIS VIDEO.

Screen Savers #1: 64 mg Ram is all you'll ever need!
I also used to play Doom shareware on my dad's laptop, until I saved up for my own 486DX266 w. 8MB of RAM and 2MB VESA graphics, bought in September 1994. Played a mean game of Doom2, Alone in the Dark 2, Ecstatica, Tie Fighter, Duke Nukem 3D,
My specs in summer 1998: IBM Aptiva Pentium166 MMX, 64MB RAM, ATI Mach 64, 4MB Diamond Monster Voodoo1, SB Pro, 15" monitor w. built-in speakers.
My current specs: X24400+, 4GBPC3200 @400MHZ, ATI X1950XTX CF edition with X1900XTX in crossfire mode. SB X-fi platinum. 150GB WD Raptor HD. 30" Dell 3007WFP LCD monitor. Logitech Z5500 speakers. Logitech G7 cordless laser mouse. Logitech diNovo cordless RF keyboard.
I have a lot of fun playing BF2, Quake 4, etc..
Photograph Transformed to 3D model
It's not 3D, it's taking a still image, assigning a horizon to it, bending at the horizon, pulling the bottom info up and streched to make it look flat.
The complexity of the object would only be limited by assignment of values you have, the highest in this video was the train, they allocated foreground, background, horizon, and train. This thus gives you the impression of volume. Just like Duke Nukem 3D, it says 3D on the box but it's not, it was 2.5D because you aren't actually looking up and down in that game, what happens is that the image is strech prespective wise to give you the impression that you are looking up and down.
