I actually didn't think this was Seth's best work. I'm a big fan of his "Closer Look" segment, but I don't find him that funny with his one-liners.

Also, genuine question: why did Oprah win the Cecil B. de Mille Award? I mean, she's undoubtedly a successful person, but her filmography is pretty mediocre.

The last few winners were:
Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Jodie Foster, Woody Allen, George Clooney, Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep.

There's no way you could argue that Oprah belongs in that company. (not really sure why Clooney is there either, TBH, also get lost Woody Allen, you creepy old fuck).

But still, upvote for the sentiment if not the execution.

People love sandbox survival and they love space exploration and they fell in love with the idea of what this game could be. The magazines talked about it like evangelical christians talk about the rapture - this is the end of gaming as we know it and it's going to change everything! And the internet fandom descended with prepubescent fury on anyone that dared suggest the emperor was, in fact, nekkid.

This long video about NMS covers it extremely well, but i'll cut a long story short. There was something veeery slightly disingenuous about the moratoriums placed on reviews, lack of pre-release review versions, and significant backtracking and retconning of promises made by lead designer(? - but definite spokesperson) Sean Murray. The clean cut, well spoken, awkwardly charming Sean Murray. Who I think understood as the release date got closer that a lot of people were not going to be happy with him, because in his interviews he started to look more and more like De Niro playing Russian roulette in The Deer Hunter.

Extra things that immediately pissed me off before i refunded it:
- Menu stuff can appear offscreen if you open it by the edges in 2016
- Can't alt tab in full screen
- Run in borderless window to solve it, performance hit
- i7 6700k, Maximus viii Hero mobo and a GTX 1080 but yes, performance hit and general poor performance anyway
- Can't bind actions to thumb buttons in 2016
- Mouse sensitivity goes from 0 to 100. Changing my sensitivity from 100 to 0 didn't even half the turning speed in game, I had to alt tab to manually change the DPI in razer synapse, which is where i discovered i couldn't alt-tab.

All this for £40? Overwatch cost £30.

They made a lot of money off this, but I'm afraid for me they did it through unfair means. If you check out the quotes from Murray and what the game actually is, there's a huge disparity and the backtracking as release date approached was the final evidence.

But it's funny that this guy is popping a neck vein over JB who is a Canadian. We Canadians are good at that... we export our shit singers to the States, keep the best ones for ourselves...

I'll agree that the behavior displayed by the Fox anchors was pretty bad.
But if we're being honest about it, reality TV exists primarily to showcase people who are either pretty to look at and or people making idiots of themselves for our entertainment. Check and check, yep, he's a reality show star. I'm not sure I'm willing to put him in the same room as De Niro until he's been nominated for or won several Academy awards, we're all human, certainly but beyond that I'm not sure I see a connection to a famous actor.

All this proves to me is that he's normal. Even today, Robert De Niro is known for not being very good at interviews. ^Upvoted^ for pointing out the nastiness.

Come on of course Cowboys and Aliens was going to terrible. They took a funny story and tried to make a serious movie out of it and that's why it fails on so many fronts. Plus Ford is phoning in everything now just like Pacino and De Niro.

Hanna was good but disappointing mostly of what Blankfist mentioned already. She takes out a whole base and suddenly shes scared of 3 guys and 1 woman in the finale? Ninja please.

Hanna with its fairytale bullshit was really weak as well. I was hoping it would have more of a Bourne Identity feel about it. Am not 5 give me complex storylines not rooted in fairytale bullshit. By the 3rd act all I wanted to do is fucking leave because the story started to fall apart and retcon everything they built up in act 1 and 2. Still good but it's not Leon or Nikita.

Overall this whole summer has been shit for movies.

Your review has made me want to see it. If only to work out if De Niro has more than two scenes. Without him we'd be wondering who the hell Manning was. Well, we still do, but De Niro's name sells the film.

I don't know much about AD whatever but it sounds like it was a label created and applied in the States. I think the sociology of that is very interesting. Doctors start applying the label and before you know it you have largely socially created condition. And then the drugs are ingested...

re the concept of the film we'll certainly all be modding our minds and bodies in the new few hundred years if you believe the futurists. Will that make people less stupid? I'd like to think so.
