Not if the same people were running the company, but it folded because they were swindling investors to pay themselves and never completing projects. When the attenuator job stalled, I think because he didn't pay for the crash testing so never got certified results, he just moved on to the next project instead of fixing the issues, and did the same thing. Not good.

I'm only discounting some things it because it's irrelevant to the point which is you stating rolls or "flops" are better than an arbitrary situation that generally doesn't exist and certainly isn't the other option to a roll in this test.

You're massively oversimplifying things again. Where is your crumple zone math? Where is your math showing how much force is imparted into pushing the car in front forward based on whether it has it's brakes on, is still moving, etc, etc, etc.

Your personal experience is not extraordinary. I have been in accidents, I didn't bother to bring it up because it doesn't mean anything.

I'm not arguing that higher G forces don't correlate with more severe injuries, that's not the point . The point is that CSI injury is very complex, complexities that can cause severe injury with minor force in situations like.. a rollover.

I have a Jeep Renegade myself, it's pretty much a bit more top-heavy Fiat 500X, I really enjoy it but it's made for on-road driving and it doesn't roll in this crash test. But I won't be taking it to the top of a mountain without a good road.

The comment about airbags was a portion of the description of the video. There are no side airbags for the rear seat passengers.

I was thinking about car safety and how the biggest variable is likely the driver...how specific cars are driven on average, and it struck me that the best way to promote public safety would be to make your maximum speed limit variable based on gvw (gross vehicle weight). This is already done for vehicles with more than two axles or those towing trailers because it's obvious they take longer to stop. The same logic should apply to every car. It's a no brainer that a Humvee takes longer to stop than a Miata, and is far less controllable under emergency braking. For the safety of both those in such larger vehicles and the general public, they should not be allowed to go as fast as cars weighing 1/4 their weight with better brakes.
A side benefit of such a system would be greater average fuel economy, because bigger cars have greater wind resistance (on average) so become less efficient at higher speeds.
Of course, I wouldn't expect that kind of reason to ever fly in America where the most popular car is a heavy truck that's never used for hauling and could be replaced with a Honda Civic with no loss of functionality for >75% of owners....but everyone wants to drive a tank so they're safer, with no thought about what that means for the other cars on the road.

I was the crash test dummy for a demonstration when I was at University. It was my second time at the dojo. I was told "just stand there and give me your hand" The "opponent" was 5'2" and weighed maybe 100lbs soaking wet. She had me on my ass so fast I'm still not sure what happened. Used properly, especially when your attacker is moving toward you, it is remarkably effective.
