Titties are not Pockets

StukaFox says...

Wait, hold on -- I'm kinda confused.

I believe I've seen titties before, or at least I think I have. They're those things that women have so they can tell whether it's cold or not just by looking down. Those are them, right?

Ok, so here's where I'm getting confused: the "titties" I've seen, they go kinda 'out', right? Like, they stick all out and stuff. Now, pockets, on the other hand, they're 'in', because that's where you stick your hands when you see some really nice titties.

Ergo, if titties are 'out' and pocket are 'in', how can titties be pockets? Wouldn't the de facto resting state of titties negate their usefulness as pocket? I mean, like, if you tried to stuff your wallet in your titties, it'd just fall on the ground and you'd be all, "Huh, my wallet is on the ground and it's apparently a little chilly today."

Y'know what? I've had enough of this shit -- I'd like to speak to the manager, please.

You clearly have this sorted out already

You sound like you're doing much better than I am. Every year I tell myself I'm going to cover my chillies on the few nights we expect frost... and every year I forget, or pull them inside for the first frost and then the second one gets them a few days later.

It doesn't matter so much to have to plant new herbs or chillies every year, but citrus trees take a while to get going.

I tried lemons in the ground here....it lived almost 3 years, but never had a lemon.
I have peach, nectarine, and plumbs in 1/2 barrels now, doing OK, but the peach and nectarine could use more room, they're both around 8-10 ft tall. The nectarines might need more cold than we get to bear fruit, but it's happy so far a year in.
I also started a trio of Asian pears in a 1/2 barrel about 10 years back, twisted together in a spiral, then planted the whole thing a few years ago, barrel and all (with the bottom pulled out). A year later I pulled all the staves and hoops up and it's been pretty happy ever since. I've had hit and miss luck just planting smaller trees directly in our ground, so I try to get the trees pretty established these days before putting them out.
If I try an orange tree, I'll probably put it in a 40 gallon pot (I like the air pots now over 1/2 barrels, they seem to make a difference in growth speed and are far cheaper) and move it inside during winter for at least the first 4-5 years, and definitely bonsai it to keep it around 8 ft.
I have a small orchard of apple trees now....around 30, and a few other fruits. At least I know they do great in our climate.

EDIT: We have had years with over a week at 20°F in the past, so I'll definitely have to cover an orange tree at times once I put it outside. If I keep it small, no problem.

It sounds like you'd be just about OK to plant a tree in the ground outside. The (U.S. based) article I found on temperatures said more than 10 hours below 25°F would kill one. I think we might occasionally get to -3°C here for one to two hours before sunrise at mid winter in a cold year, but it's really only cold enough here to kill chillies and coriander from frost, not trees.

I have a lemon tree in a large pot, and have only ever had one small lemon from it... although that's partly from the annoying gall wasps we have here If you want normal sized oranges you'll need to plant a tree outside. They grow to about 5 metres (uhm, 15 feet maybe?) if you don't prune them (but you should).

We usually get a few weeks right at or below freezing...but last year barely a few days (nights) reached freezing, and back up to mid 50's during the day.
I have a greenhouse, I'll try a few in pots I can put inside when it freezes.
Another problem we have is lack of sun. Our local airport (Arcata) was built to train pilots for fog landing, being the most consistently foggy place in the U.S.. there's little I can do if we have a foggy year.
The pineapple is in a 1/2 barrel that I brought inside for winter. The pineapple took 18 months to ripen, and was 8 bites in total, but that still counts imo. ;-)

I guess it could have been chilly at the altitude, BEFORE they started hovering over the 2000 degrees Fahrenheit rock...

And at 2 million SHU, assuming the chilli is ~1g, you only need to drink 2,000 litres of soda to totally neutralise the heat!

Bruti79 said:

Man, if you want to kill the heat, drink something sugary. The milk is only to help the stomach when it gets blasted. The Scoville Scale, I believe, is based on how much sugar it takes to neutralize the spice.

Reach for a soda. =)

That's what annoys me. There is so much great music out there, it's just lazy to use those tunes.

They're good songs and the first time they were set to an action video, it really worked. But it's been done to death now.

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear the Chilly isn't saying this is a bad thing, just a choice.

I don't think he meant to be pejorative about it, Sage. Just... here's something I noticed, isn't that neat? The artistic choice to choke back on the scale in "I'm so Fancy" and deliver it like a taunt certainly fits... in any other context, we'd probably be saying whoever made that choice is a genius!

Music needs more people like Chilly, actively labeling that the Emperor has no clothes on. Maybe Pop music would try a little harder to create music a little less insultingly, elementary and simple.

Useless, Dangerous Toilet Paper Machine

Asmo says...

After spending a few weeks in Malaysia, I came to significantly appreciate the bent metal pipe in the few sit down toilets I got to use which points directly at el bunghole, with a tap to the side of the toilet. Turn that bad boy on and let soothing water wash away the burning chilli and curry from your screaming portal to the realm of Nurgle the poo, followed by a brief pat dry with just 2 squares of paper (not a lot of double ply over there, with a double or triple ply you could easily get the job done with 1).

You don't even need a proper bidet, I reckon a small metal pipe, some hose, couple of pipe clamps and you too could be riding the soothing rush of water cleansing your nether regions.

ps. The "portion cutting mechanism" really needs that *shrink shrink shrink* noise from a slasher movie, that motherfucker is going to town...
