Near 100 Captive Orcas & Belugas at Risk of Freezing Drownin
Most orca and beluga populations are endangered. I cannot fathom how they could be captured and kept in tiny pens for sale under international law.

AOC Exposes The Dark Side - "Let's Play A Game"
You are both saying the same thing.
The only difference is that the cynicism isn't consistently applied to everyone who warrants it.
(I heavily suspect that when the money doesn't add up - someone is making money on the side. And it just so happens that they are in the position to sell regulatory capture, so it is the most likely candidate.)
In this case AOC is on point (granted that Trump is wealthy prior to office).
If I were to criticize her, it would not be for this stuff.
(It would be for identitarianism [vs individualism])
The guilt so far is the sort of guilt everyone has. Not saying everything is kosher - just saying that everyone is guilty, malfeasance or not.
There is a saying, show me the man, I'll show you the crime.
I'm sure that the FBI can look closely enough to everyone related to trump and find something to convict everyone of. It may not be foreign influence related, but it will be something. They can even drag things out until the prez is out of office before going after the juicy targets.

$3 billion? Aaaaaahahahaha! Says him?! Oh Bob, hang your head in shame.
Edit: How much has he and his family milked the presidency for so far? Hundreds of millions certainly when you include Ivanka's special trade deals, the apartments sold to foreign agents at 10-100 times market value, and the rental of his properties by the same and other foreign agents at above market value, the milking our treasury, requiring the secret service pay him to be allowed to guard him at his properties.....sweet zombie Jebus, no one has ever abused the office or any other like he has, with your full blessing. Don't feign indignation now at others.
Earned?! Aaaaaaahahahaha! He inherited it Bob....and stole it from rubes like you pretend to be.
Are you claiming McCain got his money in some untoward way, or just implying it because you have zero evidence of any such thing but want people to think you do? You, as a Trumpeteer, have some gall accusing others of making their money in some underhanded way, no matter what they might have done it pales in comparison to the known, admitted frauds and swindles your leader brags about with pride.
Bob, Trump's administration's leaders have been found guilty on 24 counts so far in under 2 years with 89 charges SO FAR.....and many more removed in disgrace for abusing their offices for personal enrichment..... that's far more corrupt than Nixon after the break in and cover-up. There has never been another administration 1/4 as swampy as Trump's. NEVER.
Trump himself is an admitted and convicted fraud who stole money from the ignorant poor with his fake schools....and charities....and businesses....and every contract he's ever been involved with.
He's called the swamp thing for a reason.
Mancatchers
From Wikipedia's Man catcher page's section on China:
"A type of locking man catcher is available for staff at train stations and airports in China to capture and restrain individuals in a non-lethal manner.
"In some junior and middle schools, security guards are equipped with non-locking variants designed to seize a person's waist or prevent them from advancing. It is essentially a two-pronged fork, a U-shape projecting from a pole."
Total Lunar Eclipse January 20, 2019
Six hours and fifty minutes too long. Not ADD friendly. Not sure the harpsichord captured the mood either.
It was reported that meteor struck the moon during the eclipse and cause a bright flash. Don't know if it shows up in this video and I don't have the attention span to hunt for it.
If YOU see something, say something or I'm giving up on this one.

"Initially the band hat contacted me way back in 2014 to produce and record their live debut album. They had a monthly residency at the well known domicil jazz club in Dortmund at the time. Titled “Filou presents…” the band hosted a show with a guest band every third Wednesday of the month, often sharing the stage altogether for one massive jam at the end of the night. The guest bands included well-known German jazz acts but often bands that push the boundaries of jazz in some way or another (Sommerplatte, Cosmo Klein, Xaver Fischer, among others). The monthly residence gave Filou the chance to experiment with unusual stage concepts. As a result, they came up with the idea to dissolve the barrier between stage and audience for the live show.
So instead of going to the studio to create a regular album, Filou wanted to create a live recording capturing all their energy and live show experience as their debut record. The concept of making the audience become part of the stage setting also sparked the idea of abandoning a PA system and providing headphones for the audience instead. It’s a very unique experience for the concert goer and obviously turned out to be a slam dunk for me to ensure the best possible audio quality without the usual PA and monitor trash in the mics
The Ocean Cleanup Launches To The Great Pacific Garbage Patc
So, after months of issues including plastics both leaving the capture area through the entrance and just going directly under the "curtain", the device has broken catastrophically and was returned to port for repairs today, barely 3 months after deployment. Disappointing.
I'm glad they're trying something, but in reality even working perfectly this device could only clean the ocean surface like a single parking lot vacuum truck could clean and decontaminate the entire mid West. We would need hundreds of thousands of these working 24/7 to make a significant difference, and that would undoubtedly cause new insurmountable problems.
Besides, enormous amounts of plastics have degraded enough that they no longer float at the surface. These devices could never harvest that plastic, and that's the plastic entering the food web at the base, contaminating everything from phytoplankton up.
Woman returns to Japan to look for her childhood friend
Heartwarming. Brought tears to my eyes.

As much as I enjoyed this, the cynic in me couldn't stop from feeling like this whole thing was too overly motivated by the opportunity to capture it on camera.

Hypersonic Missile Nonproliferation
When you have neither speed nor maneuverability, it's your own durability that is in question, not the opponents durability.
It took the capture of the Akutan zero, its repair, and U.S. flight testing, to work out countermeasures to the zero.
The countermeasures were basically :
- One surprise diving attack and run away with momentum, or just don't fight them.
- Else bait your pursuer into a head-on pass with an ally (Thatch weave) (which, is still a bad position, only it's bad for everyone.)
Zero had 20mm cannons. The F4F had .50's. The F4F did not out gun the zero. 20mms only need a couple rounds to down a plane.
Durability became a factor later in the war, after the U.S. brought in better planes, like the F4U, F6F, Mustang, etc... while the zero stagnated in near-original form, and Japan could not make planes like the N1K in meaningful quanitties, or even provide quality fuel for planes like the Ki84 to use full power.
History is history. We screwed up at the start of WW2. Hubris/pride/confidence made us dismiss technologies that came around to bite us in the ass hard, and cost a lot of lives.
Best rockets since the 1960's? Because it had the biggest rocket?
What about reliability, consistency, dependability.
If I had to put my own life on the line and go to space, and I had a choice, I would pick a Russian rocket.

Also, the Japanese planes sacrificed durability for speed, maneuverability, and gun capability. Once US pilots realized this, they exploited the vulnerability because our planes were basically tanks compared to the Japanese ones.
The US had the best rocket program once the Saturn V became available in the 60s.
As of 2018, the Saturn V remains the tallest, heaviest, and most powerful (highest total impulse) rocket ever brought to operational status, and holds records for the heaviest payload launched and largest payload capacity to low Earth orbit (LEO) of 140,000 kg (310,000 lb), which included the third stage and unburned propellant needed to send the Apollo Command/Service Module and Lunar Module to the Moon.[5][6]
The largest production model of the Saturn family of rockets, the Saturn V was designed under the direction of Wernher von Braun and Arthur Rudolph at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, with Boeing, North American Aviation, Douglas Aircraft Company, and IBM as the lead contractors.
To date, the Saturn V remains the only launch vehicle to carry humans beyond low Earth orbit.

Net Captures Space Debris
I would assume, in it's current form, it has to be deployed in the proper orbit, direction, and speed to intercept it's target without much maneuvering on it's own. Perhaps eventually they'll make capture satellites armed with dozens of these that can chase down rogue objects and catch them, but as far as I know not yet by far.
Also,,,,
What I mean is that space debris travels at speeds up to 17,500 mph or slightly more, depending on what height it is orbiting at. If you place this device in the path (or near it) of a known mass of debris, it is going to have to adjust and fire that net at a speed relative to the debris. If you have the device speed up or slow down to try and match the debris speed, it is going to rise or drop it's orbit height comparatively to the adjusted speed.
That is what I am wondering, will this device be able to catch something travelling at that speed? I'm assuming it would have to try without excessive movement changes or it would require too much fuel.
