Weird party trick (gravity defying)

daxgaz says...

we did a similar thing in boot camp. Ours was in the push-up position with our shins and feet interlaced. It was very hard to hold because our arms supported our entire body weight and we had to counter each others balance. Anyway, it was interesting to see.

Mac Web Ad: Don't Give Up on Vista

phelixian says...

I like macs and pcs, and work on both, but honestly feel that vista is a better OS than anything mac has out right now. For too long I would wish I had a mac for the cool fresh feel, but with vista I feel like I'm using the coolest os out. Aesthetics mean alot to me and i think vista's look and feel are spot on. For the first time in I don't know how long I like using my computer for the OS alone.(ok after a few tweaks to remove nags and get things set, and yeah sure I need twice as much ram)

Mac software feels tired to me(except for the remote and flip down media playing), while the design of mac products is still amazing. I guess you can run boot camp or parallels with vista if you want the mac ID, which is great, but I love my new carbon fiber sony laptop.

If their is one thing I dislike about macs it is their DRM stance, crap software(itunes), and crap support for windows they provide for their ipods. (oh and their rather stupid ads about macs and pcs)

Why we are not ready to leave Iraq

rembar says...

Why yes, Raven, our noobs do look better on their first days at boot camp. Synchronization wasn't the Iraqis' only problem - simply performing a correct jumping jack seemed to be the most pressing issue. Our boys can at least do that much when they're fresh from the farms.

Why we are not ready to leave Iraq

raven says...

c'mon... you guys gotta at least wonder... at a US army boot camp, first couple of days straight off the bus from home... do our N00Bs look much better? Synchronization takes practice people.

Hannity "interviews" bigger prick than himself

MarineGunrock says...

i can certainly imagine many scenarios that would make a video like this severely raise your temperature.
Right you are, MINK. As far as signing up to fight wars I disagree with, well, I signed into the delayed entry program in 2002, and a year later I went to boot camp in June of 2003. At this time, even the hard-core lefties thought it was a justified war.
Knowing what I know now, would I change it if I could? No. It was a really great experience for me. Especially when I was in Iraq. A lot of those people wanted us there. I was there for the first election, and it was amazing to see the amount of people lined up at the front gate of the base to come and vote. Mind you, this wasn't the "green zone" where soldiers can walk around without body armor. I was at Al-Mahmudiyah. Also pleasantly known and a corner in the Triangle of death. And for anybody that wants to bash me on here (yes, it's happened before) please know what you're talking about, unlike memorare in that comment to me about "techs in Kuwait". I remember hearing that more people per capita showed up to vote than in the U.S. We've had democracy for over 200 years now, and most people don't care. They bitch and whine about things, but when it comes times to vote, they're too lazy thinking about whether or not they want fries with their next big mac. I honestly believe that we are doing good for their country.
Anyone can throw up the "destroyed infrastructure and schools" argument, and I'll be glad to discuss how we do every thing we can to protect and rebuild them.
Really, it boils down to this: A lot of Arabs have hated us for years. Now they finally have the chance to come and shoot us.

And as always, MINK, I thoroughly enjoy your comments and discussions.

And how's that for a title?

Generation Chickenhawk: Will College Republicans go to Iraq?

MarineGunrock says...

HaricotVert,

Just because there are 'supporting roles' available, you still need to be able to pass the physical aspects of boot camp.

It's only if your actually IN the military and you get injured, (and it's an injury that might qualify you for medical discharge) THEN you might be offered a 'supporting role'.

And the guy who did that is a jackass. "Is this how republicans sole problems? With violence?" Hmm... Yeah, I don't think that being escorted out is considered violence.

U.S. Navy Drill Team

Fletch says...

I think these are recruits, not the official USN drill team. We had a chance to join drill team during boot camp, but it would have extended boot camp by several weeks, so most of us didn't. That was a long time ago, so I could be mistaken.

9 year old argues with his mother on a Xbox Live Clan Match

swampgirl says...

This mother ought to be ashamed of herself!!! Oh to have 30 min w/ this mom and son. She needs as much straightening out as her son does.
We just bought a 360 and a Wii recently. (the Wii was my Mother's Day present )
It doesn't matter how much they cost either, I would, with joy, march my kids out to the driveway and have them smash the players with hammers if they ever spoke to ANYONE that way.. Who let's their small child alone on xbox live anyway??? We have let our kid play, but noooo sound, good grief!
That child needs some kiddie boot camp, stat.

High Stress Military Training

Marine Corps Drill Instructors ambush a recruit

Astro says...

I went through that hell about 2 years ago. Imagine someone screaming at you for hours, while being forced to recite information or perform "physical activities". Naturally I think this is hilarious, but at the time I was terrified. Looks like Recruit depot san diego.

Boot Camp is bizarro world, but it definitely teaches you how to deal with stress (among other things).

Oh, and I am definitely not a brainwashed robot, thanks.

Mac and PC spoof - PC is an alien

Krupo says...

Problem with that argument, farhad, is Boot Camp.

I used to use it all the time, now I just sit quietly and ignore the fanboy debates.

Speaking of that, upgrading my 2500XP+ system tomorrow - hurray!

Mac VS. PC Commercial

bamdrew says...

you can tell its old because now-a-days the intel pentiums along with Parallels and Boot Camp have evened the score. I note this only because I'm looking at getting a powerbook, which would have been crazy for me years ago.
