Much of this, or very similar, footage was in the Blue Planet series. It looked like a much better transfer in Blue Planet.

I came here to say the same thing... and Blue Planet is available to watch on Netflix on Demand... so check it out nature hippies!!

Looks like a clip from the Blue Planet series. If it's the clip I'm thinking of it's sea lion pup captured from the beach is an amazing beaching behaviour of the whales, a behaviour apparently only done in patagonia. Also, it's already dead (or at least unconscious) after being "played with" by the whales for quite some time after being captured live. Poor little beast.

Actually if I remember this episode correctly. They return the live seal pup to the beach when they're done playing.

This looks like a dupe of
http://www.videosift.com/video/Killer-Whale-throws-Seal-20-meters-
in-the-air
as well as
http://www.videosift.com/video/Save-Pandas-Not-Whales
The relevant footage is at the end of each of those vids, and neither of those is long enough to warrant the 'short excerpt from a long vid' exception for this one.

Well, it is just as fake looking as the other two

The clip is from a high-def miniseries, when you see it at full resolution, it looks quite real.
