Forensic audit. Lol. What do you think that means? Did Trump tell you when he repeated the phrase over and over until you remembered it? It’s a term like “legitimate rape”….sounds fine but it’s a nothing term used to delegitimize audits that don’t use the right wing terminology, even though they are far more forensic in nature.

Funny how much this statement reminds me of both impeachments.....Republicans afraid to look at the charges or evidence, Trump obstructing every witness and request for documents. They had shamed him mercilessly until the election, however wouldn't touch those opportunities. Telling....and politically costly.

If he had nothing to hide, why did he hide EVERYTHING? No administration has withheld documents and witnesses from congress like Trump’s. None has been less transparent or 1/4 as criminal….proven by convictions.

Conversely, Democrats WITH Republicans did look into the obvious baseless whining from Republicans/Trump. They did real, professional audits with reputable non partisan organizations and bipartisan oversight using established rules and methods for actually auditing, not blacklight looking for bamboo or spooge on ballots investigated by delusional conspiracy theorists trying to reinstall Trump….so they did look and verify BEFORE certification…3 times in AZ alone. I know, with the memory of a drunk gnat, you don’t remember that, but it happened repeatedly and in multiple states, nearly every state Trump wanted to toss out.

Why are you afraid to look at the actual audits already done, and insist we wait for the farcical fake audit by a political propaganda company instead?
My guess, the plan is to bankrupt the election funds in any county/state Biden won, decertify their equipment, and make it much harder for them to hold the next election…it’s the only thing that makes sense about the nonsensical partisan vote reviews you now insist on. This single review in one AZ county has already cost the county up to $6 million in equipment they must replace before holding any elections, and that would be 10 times more if they had handed cyberninjas what they demanded, access to every county computer and digital records….+ $1million in public funding…..for absolutely nothing.
You want that repeated across the nation, but only in counties where Trump lost.

Sadly Democrats are afraid to look and verify and hence shame Trump on this. Makes one wonder They have shamed him at every chance, every opportunity, even after the election. However wont touch this opportunity. Telling.

What happens when you're drunk AND stoned at the same time?

Mordhaus says...

I've only done this once. I will never do it again. In 1994, I turned 21. During my party, a friend brought both Weed and Jack Daniels. I partook of both heavily.

For the first time ever, I was almost unable to move. I've been drunk. I've been high. Never before was I rendered nigh motionless. I would not have placed this on the "Never do again so help me" list if that was the end of the experience.

Later that night, a powerful nausea unlike any I had experienced before or since came upon me. I had barely regained my equilibrium and in the process of vainly trying to make it to the bathroom, I took out a wall in my friend's mobile home. Let me be clear, I am not in any way exaggerating when I said I took out a wall. I was a defensive lineman in school and I was still mostly the same size 3 years later.

I landed in a heap of broken plywood and 2x4's, my friend and his girlfriend awoke to the noise and noticed their bedroom had a new entry. They then were treated to projectile vomit which spewed about the room as I tried to get up and out to the bathroom. They freaked out, got up and tried to run out, forgetting that they were naked. I was able to get up finally, and stumbled back out of their room, where I blearily noticed that everyone who was still hanging about the party were gawking at us. Me, covered in puke, a glow in the dark OP T-shirt, and bleached jeans. My friend and his girl covered in puke alone.

Puke glows oddly under blacklight, let me tell you. Anyhow, we all got cleaned up, I changed clothes, and then my future wife took me home. I went back a week later, after the shame had worn off a bit, to get my clothes. My friend had moved, his rented trailer was padlocked, and I never heard from him again.

If by some miracle you are reading this, Ricky, apologies bud.

Why Violent Video Games Don't Cause Violence | Today's Topic

Procrastinatron says...

Exactly right. I like to play multiplayer FPS games, and in the one I am currently playing (Blacklight: Retribution, for those who are curious), it is possible to make your enemies heads' explode with all the charm of Gallagher smashing a watermelon.

It is, simply put, abso-fucking-lutely gorgeous.

But it's never more than a bonus. I do enjoy it for the sheer brutality of it (and that sound - like a popping balloon), but it's never the focus of the game for me. In fact, most of the time, despite the fact that the game is based on killing, I am mostly concerned with the basic mechanics of the game, and the constant competition I am in with myself.

Another series that constantly crops in these engineered controversies (and which was mentioned in this video), is GTA. People cannot seem to get this idea that teenagers are single-mindedly finding more and more ways to murder random prostitutes out of their heads, when the truth is that that's just one of MANY things you can do in GTA's sprawling cityscapes. I, for example, would sometimes enjoy simply driving fast cars around at night while listening to jazz. Same game, no prostitutes, or the wanton murder thereof, involved.

But then, I suppose "driving fast cars at night while listening to jazz on the radio" nets "news" outlets fewer views than "EVIL VIDEO GAME IS TEACHING THE YOUTH OF AMERICA TO MURDER PROSTITUTES."

As a game developer, I've come to realize that the graphics of a game have the most impact when a player first starts playing it. After a while the player focuses more and more on the underlying game mechanics rather than whatever violence happens to be immediately playing out on the screen.

Ie, a nonplayer sees their kid bloodily gunning down zombies for hours on end, but the kid is actually focusing on teamwork (multiplayer), scoring max points, reaching objectives, etc.

Ultraviolet Tattoos

LordOderus says...

I have one of these blacklight tattoos. Its the dark mark from Harry Potter. The scaring is about 90% invisible now, you can't see anything unless you know exactly where to look, and even then, it just looks like a faint line or two. I have had the tattoo for about a year and a half now and it still glows just as bright as it did when I first got it.

With all of these stickies, and a heaping of blank's a$$grav33, this thread is starting to look like a CSI episode. Or KP's bedroom. Either way, we need a blacklight and bleach to clean up the mess.

Thanks to everyone who commented. Except rottenseed, whose comment was unoriginal and sexist, and I don't think Sarah Palin would approve.

Are Cell phone towers and HV power lines killing us?

rembar says...

ELF, such as 60hz power, on the other hand is more likely to be a problem. ELF has been experimentally shown to increase mutations in mono-cellular organisms, both alone, and as a catalyst with other factors.

First of all, effects of anything on single-cell organisms can't be transferred directly to mammals. For example, short-term exposure to radiation on the level of party blacklights can have mutagenic effects on bacteria that humans would never suffer. Such comparisons are shoddy at best. In addition, to the extent of all studies I know of, the claim of ELF increasing actual mutations by itself, and as a "catalyst", has not been satisfactorily demonstrated, nor has an adequate mechanism ever been generally accepted. It would be nice if you backed that up with at least one study. An example of such would be a specific study such as High Density 60 Hz Magnetic Field Has No Effects on Mutagenicity and Growth of the Budding Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which does nothing to counter an argument for an overall mutagenic effect for my argument (general negation being impossible with papers like this), but a similar paper demonstrating increase in mutation for any bacteria with causative effect well-established to ELF would be interesting enough to discuss.

Of course, then again, you still have to deal with the fact that epidemiological studies on ELF exposure in humans still trumps bacterial mutation.

I would not discount out of hand any concern about significant increases in electro-magnetic radiation, any more then I would discount concerns about pumping more CO2 into the atmosphere.

Mechanisms for and accounts of environmental damage caused by CO2 increases in the atmosphere have been well-documented, studied and analyzed. The same can't be said for EM radiation of the frequencies we are discussing on humans. Not the same at all.

The fact of the matter is that we are really past the point technologically where high-tension power lines even make sense. Using a less monopolistic energy system with distributed generation is more stable, cheaper, more efficient, and safer in terms of ELF exposure then centralized generation. Even if ELF exposure could be shown to be insignificantly dangerous, high-tension power distribution should still be abandoned.

Separate issue. Epidemiological arguments against ELF don't involve the pragmatics of such power distribution, that's another argument and one I don't have enough knowledge of to take up.
