Mr. Tarantino strangled Dianne Kruger Inglorious Bastards...

For anyone who might not know, gorillaman is somewhat of a complete freak....dedicated room, little-black-book fulla mates and corresponding safety words, whole nine yards.

Actually a somewhat dangerous thing to do, as anyone involved in BDSM knows, but whatev. it made for a very arousing authentic scene.

Capitalism = Longer Life

Yogi says...

I have nothing to say about unscientific studies that don't take into account millions of other criteria and only look at what they want to look at. This is like the Black Book of Communism...you can make the same book about Capitalism and it's brutal mass killings...I'm sure you could make a good case about how Capitalism can significant harm societies.

Come back to me with a study that's taken decades...then we can have a debate. Of course it will end with my citing all the times Capitalism has effected other countries and made them worse.

Ahhh Bill... love 'im. Seen him live, he had me and the wife crying with laughter. He's one of the most intellectual and in the same breath, ridiculous comedians there are. Great to have a comedian not playing to the lowest common denominator.

And he wasn't in a show about librarians, they worked in/owned a book shop, show was black books.

A People's History of American Empire by Howard Zinn

"A guy praising class war, whether ironically or not, when there are 100 million murdered worldwide by communism speaks volumes."

I am assuming that the 100 million number comes from The Black Book of Communism. If you actually looked at the numbers, you would've noticed that a majority (~65 million) of the deaths are due to famine. Not only are those numbers incredibly sketchy, but famines of that magnitude have a variety of causal factors. If you examined the limited evidence (regarding the famine deaths), it is really a combination of natural disasters, short-sightedness, logistical incompetence and government denial.

Now I completely agree that the governments in power are completely responsible for the deaths, but it is not unique to communism that governing incompetence has caused civilian deaths (Katrina anyone?) In the end, a catchy phrase like "communism murdered 100 million people worldwide" is really just ignorant, sensationalistic bullshit.

Yes, it was the last film I watched before leaving Canada. It was very touching, I had always enjoyed Edith Piaf's songs got exposed to her via my mum the first time I watched Saving Private Ryan, she can be heard singing in the last scene before the soliders face off against the advancing germans. My mum said it was Edith Piaf. Later on I came across her songs, some of them are on VS.

The movie was amazing, I was afraid that the actress wouldn't be able to capture her intensity but she pulled it off, very touching... I think the most touching scene for me personally was when her lover died, she sees him come to her...she runs out to find his gift... her servants stand eerily silent... slowly it dawns on you that he is dead and she is the last person to understand that.

The ending was beautiful, it managed to show her as being a talented woman with many flaws as well, in effect it humanized her.

This film along with the Black Book were the best cinema experiences I had before coming back to Kuwait where movies are butchered for censorship purposes.
