Not at all.
It is Ewan MacGregor and his friend going around the world on motorbikes. Of course there is a camera crew so they aren't all alone, but it is rough and tumble. Sleeping outdoors in Siberia, if memory serves. Getting miffed at each other, for real, since they are such good pals. Meeting extraordinary people. Then hopping on their bikes and heading out!

I've watched the whole series. Great.
Is it anything like Michael Palin's specials?

Preview for "Aral: Return to the Sea"
Before I knew about the Aral Sea, when I was years younger, I always wondered what the deal was with the occasional Nat'l Geographic picture of rusty boats sitting in the desert (also before the internet really became a good place for researching that sort of thing). The story of the Sea and how the Soviets plundered it is mind-boggling, as is the story of how the Central Asian republics' bickering is allowing the catastrophe to continue rather than be slowed or stopped. I suggest "The Devil and the Disappearing Sea" (link below, and you can read the first few pages):

BTW, in the best-selling FPS game "Half-Life 2", the same imagery of boats stuck on the sand recurs fairly often around the middle portion of the game; the setting is also the former USSR.

Hey Farhad, have you heard of a Russian film called "Psy" (Dogs)? It's supposed to have footage of the ship graveyards of the Aral Sea, I'd be really interested to see it but so far haven't found it anywhere.

perse, can you add "aral sea" to the tags?
Global Warming 101
The believe that anything we do can never be enough to change our climate is a dangerous one. One more example for you here. The Aral Sea in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Please read, then tell me humans can do no harm.
