While I completely agree that Kavanaugh's posting was horribly corrupt and partisan, I don't believe the above statement for a moment.

Hopefully the film itself will prove me wrong by being an unbiased uneditorialised documentary of facts, but I think that's pretty much impossible in this political climate.

Vladimir Putin's yacht, Graceful, appears to have a different call sign on a few yacht tracking websites.

As Russian oligarch yachts are being tracked around the world, Putin's luxury boat typically has the call sign UBGV8, according to FleetMon.

But on another website, MarineTraffic, Bloomberg reporter Ryan Gallagher and Good Pillow CEO William LeGate noticed that someone changed the call sign to FCKPTN and its current maritime position is "Hell."

Gallagher tweeted that it was an offshoot group from the hackers Anonymous known as The Anon Leaks,

They "told me they did it by manipulating the maritime 'Automatic Identification System,' which is used to track ship locations," he tweeted. "They said they wanted to put the yacht in the scope of sanction packages as well as 'put a little smile on some faces for a short period in these dark times.'"

Actually, I find it informative to know what the q-anon crowd is claiming first hand, it gives me the opportunity to research it and have some facts ready to debunk the insanity in real life.

I do not mean to be rude, but the reason why you're feeling no empathy is because you assume that drug addiction is a choice that people make, turning away from better and brighter options and choosing the short road to an early death.

It isn't. It's generally a result of inability to deal with life, a job, trauma from their past etc. It is a result of social systems which allow people to sink to the point they need an escape. Look at any mental ward, most of the inmates (if allowed) will smoke. Same with various anon groups, smoking/coffee etc are almost encouraged as an alternate addiction to the one that will put them in a grave far earlier.

Addiction is a crutch, a way of escaping from something else.

The work by Carl Hart on addiction provides a lot of proof that when given social interaction and ways to reintegrate with society, addicts can and do have the fortitude to get off drugs. And that most drug addicts are fully functional, and drugs are a way for them to cope with the stresses or lack of control in their life.

To fix a problem, you first have to understand it. That does not require sympathy or empathy. That is basic science and it's based on evidence. That the DEA is freaking out over krokodil is because they don't understand that drug abuse in the US is a factor of the social situation people find themselves in. At least for the classes of people that will use a cheap and dangerous drug (not to put too fine a point on it, predominately black). It would not be unexpected that because of the supposed danger, users found with krokodil may end up with far harsher sentences than heroin users. Soaring African-American incarceration rates again?

I tend to agree, although you'd also expect to see a lot of "Ooh, if I found that sleeping I'd totally hit it" etc...

Strangely enough, I've seen serious posts/vids etc before dealt with incredibly well by random anons including obits for WoW players, or a community coming together like the building of a playground in EQ2 for a terminal child. We tend to remember the worst, but there's plenty of supportive people out there who's first instinct isn't to heap shit on a person.

I'm just thankful that I've been relatively healthy all my life. I can't imagine what it would be like to have this hanging over your head (or indeed, any one of a number of chronic conditions).
