Professor Richard Dawkins - "What if you're wrong?"
Dawkins shits me these days. He's a man almost entirely devoid of humour and does not have the temperament to face people with opposing viewpoints to himself.
I recently watched him be interviewed by Australia's own Andrew Denton, and my god did Dawkins come across as a humourless dick.
I hate that he is so much the face of atheism these days, because he doesn't show the humanity of it well at all. I MUCH prefer Neil deGrasse Tyson, because he is a man of humour, of wit, of charm. All of which I think Dawkins lacks.
He just makes me cringe now.
Orson Welles turns the tables on Dick Cavett
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
I suppose you're right Spoco2 - the comparison is probably unfair. In the US you could compare this to a Charlie Rose interview.
I like Andrew Denton too. I enjoyed his interview with the Waifs a few weeks ago. [off to search for it]
edit: and here it is.
Orson Welles turns the tables on Dick Cavett
Fantastic stuff... really fascinating. I don't know Dick Cavett, me being Australian.. but in response to dag. "I wish Talk Shows were like this still. Compare this to something like Jay Leno." You're looking at the wrong shows, they're variety shows, you're after real interview shows.
Here in Australia, we have the brilliant 'Enough Rope' with Andrew Denton: http://youtube.com/results?search_query=denton+enough+rope&search=Search
Or in the UK there is Parkinson: http://youtube.com/results?search_query=Parkinson&search=Search
The shows are there, you just need to know where to look.
