Depends on what you're into. In terms of tenderness, Filet Mignon basically trumps because it's insanely soft, even when cooked up to well-done.

If you want a flavourful steak, go for anything with a "Bone In". That would be a rib-eye, bone in rib steak, T-bone, etc. Typically they're more flavourful steaks because they tend to be "fattier", and fat = taste.

The "baseball" and "coulotte" steaks are typically beef for the sake of beef, usually not going to be the focus of your dish, it'll be something that gets topped off with blue cheese or garlic butter as another type of flavour.

Flank, Skirt, "hanger" and most other types of steaks are also not typically the focus of your meal, but will usually be cooked up for other parts of it. (Order steak fajitas at a restaurant? 90% chance it's one of these three steaks.)

The key factor to almost all of them though is marbleization, which refers to the amount of good fat that's weaved its way through the cut. It may look gross when raw because it's honestly like a buncha white shit on your steak but once that's cooked up that's where the flavour comes from.

My personal choice for a steak is the Bone-in wing steak. It's effectively a giant slice of prime rib roast that's been cooked up like a steak. Very tender, lots of flavour, and at the end, as long as you don't mind looking like a neanderthal, you can actually just chew the meat off the bone for some of the most tender / tasty steak you'll ever have.

We had a guy like this on our college campus back in the 90s. He also called himself "Brother" something-or-other and used to stand in the quad yelling at girls that walked by in mini-skirts that they were whores and sluts and would burn in hell. The university protected his right to free speech until the boyfriend of one of the girls he verbally accosted punched him in the jaw and sent him to the hospital. I'm glad to hear in this news story that other students defended his right to speak freely and while on the one hand I'm glad some students decided to counter-protest him, I can't help but feeling the fastest way to make him go away is to completely ignore him and show how irrelevant both he and his crazy ideas are.

I see what you're saying. I wasn't trying to reduce everything about a person to environmental factors. Certainly our choices have a huge impact on how we turn out. Instead I was disagreeing with the specific notion that personal preferences are primarily choices. Certainly we choose which preferences to nurture and how much to nurture them, though. To say we haven't hyper masculinized our culture is just plain ignorant. If you look throughout history, you can see the gradual progression towards an ungodly amount of "manliness". Same goes for women too. A lot simply comes down to advertising and commercialization, the segmentation of the have's and have not's and so forth.

In reality, it comes down to money. To people who are poor, violence is usually the solution. There is no question about that; statistically speaking poorer men are more likely to lash out violently than those with more. Mostly because the poor man only has his respect. The rich man, well, he could get sued, lose his job, get hurt, lose his house and fancy car etc.

Knowing this, how do you advertise to the male with little? You tell him if he wants to be anything, he needs to be a man! Like James Bond or something. 6-pack abs (despite a long history of that not being the ideal form, i.e. early black and white movies or dress makers changing the sizes of their clothes from a size 12 being "average" to a size 6.)

I know we love to say men are being feminized and turning into "wussies." Fox news loves talking about how the NFL is worried about brain injuries (despite all the evidence showing clearly there is a ton of it) and Christian groups claiming bullying is GOOD for society because it weeds out the gays. For a "man" to, I have no idea actually, whatever it is the Fox News thinks men should be . . . Are "men" supposed to always be violent? They should always resort to shooting each other over trivial things?

What exactly is "being a man" all about anyway? Not being gay? Not being like a woman? And why is being a woman, or gay, so terrible? Why is it that high heels and make up were originally a "man" thing? Or frilly clothes . . . Why is it that 100 years ago, little boys and girls wore the same clothes, which were usually dresses? Hell, Ernest Hemmingway (a man's man) wore a dress as a child. There are plenty of pictures of him in it, and it's even on display at his house in Key West. So is he less of a man now?

And if wearing a skirt is so not manly, why are Scot's so manly then? Or is it manly to say fuck society, I'll do what I want? Is it manly to go against the flow? Stand up for what you believe? For instance, the story of the father who wore dresses because his son wanted to wear a dress, and the father didn't want his son to feel ashamed for being who he is? I'm pretty sure that father, as some say, has some pretty big brass balls. Would you do that for your kid? Or would you bow to societal pressure instead?

years ago police and sherrifs were part of the community.they lived next door.they went to church and participated in local social events.
so incidents like this were a rarity.

and cops were held accountable by the community.
i remember as a teen playing basketball at a friends house and watching a group of men walking with purpose to a cops house who lived right down the road.

being teens and super curious we followed the men.
now for quite some time it had been known that this officer was fond of stopping young women and frisking them for no apparent reason other than to grope them.since there was no actual evidence nothing was ever done about it concerning discipline towards this officer.

so these fathers decided to do something about it.

they were calm.

and they told the cop to get out of their neighborhood.
leave.
and that if the cop ever touched another young girl they would pull him out by his feet and humiliate him in front of his family.(which was awesome)

the cop laughed it off with false bravado and refused to leave.

here is where it got interesting.
people started to shun this cop and his family.
nobody would do business with him.not locally at least.
they wouldnt sit near him at church.
his kids didnt get invited to parties or any social events.

and within a month he moved his family to conneticut.

the neighborhood just shut his family out.

but those days of cops being part of the community are gone.cops have become revenue officers who represent the power of the state.the cops of old who joined the force out of duty has been replaced with egomaniacs and violence addicts.(not all mind you).

Exactly - political correctness has little, if anything to do with it (and I don't think @radx actually meant otherwise in his/her title). It's a joke, it's funny because it's well scripted and well acted and that's timeless.

It seems there are many people saying political correctness has gone too far (and IMHO sometimes it does) while others say modern society is too liberal and decency has gone out the window (and IMHO sometimes it has). On the whole, we are now allowed, to a point, to express ourselves but are no longer allowed to call people of a different race insulting names, for example.

It's not perfect, but I think we're in a much better place now than, say, 60 years ago when women weren't allowed to wear short skirts but you could bar black people from entering your business.

When I hear the phrase "it's political correctness gone mad", I hear "now when I'm a bigoted asshole, someone will call me out on it".
