True Grit - 2nd Trailer

Sorry to say but I do detest the Cohens. Vastly overrated and seemingly incapable of developing characters or vaguely interesting scripts. Some of their direction is good so maybe they should stick to that rather than developing films.
Anyone catch the ending of Old Country or whatever it's called? Absolutely rubbish and typically contrary behaviour.
They really haven't done a decent film since Raising Arizona.
Finally why, oh, why are they remaking True Grit? Run out of ideas?
Typical internet "opinion-wielder" who can freely tell you how much he hates something but is utterly ill-equipped to explain the reasons why. It's rather humorous.

Sometimes it's ok to have an opinion without having to back it up. Things like movies really don't need much of a reason, it's just how the person feels about it. Having said that, if I'm really passionate about something, I would probably want to know a good reason why, but sometimes there isn't one

They haven't done a decent film since Raising Arizona...? You didn't like Fargo? The Big Lebowski? O Brother Where Art Thou? Miller's Crossing?

Incapable of developing characters? If nothing else, The Dude is one of the most iconic characters of the '90s. I know opinions are subjective and all that, but... you are incorrect. The Coen brothers are awesome.

Actually don't like the Racism in this but.. Actually some of what they are saying is True. If you actually did your homework you'd figure this out by now, but if you want to be brainwashed by the liberal (New World Order) be my guest.

The only possible objective statement these people could have said to be true would be Obama being born in Kenya. But according to this:

American citizenship laws and United States Immigration policies indicate that in general, people are born U.S. citizens if they are born in the United States or they are born to U.S. citizens

I understand he was born in Hawaii. And even if he was born in Kenya, if his parents are US citizens, then Obama would be a US citizen, regardless of place of birth.

You can read the rules here: http://www.immigrationtest.org

As for everything else said in the video, it's all hate filled garbage only stupid, sorry excuse for a human being could believe.

If Geico ever runs out of ideas with the cave man bit, they should change it to:

"So easy, even a Ranting McCain supporter can do it."

The british joke about the Black hole machine

12962 says...

Man's technology has exceeded his grasp. - 'The World is not Enough'
Zealous Nobel Prize hungry Physicists are racing each other and stopping at nothing to try to find the supposed 'Higgs Boson'(aka God) Particle, among others, and are risking nothing less than the annihilation of the Earth and all Life in endless experiments hoping to prove a theory when urgent tangible problems face the planet. The European Organization for Nuclear Research(CERN) new Large Hadron Collider(LHC) is the world's most powerful atom smasher that will soon be firing subatomic particles at each other at nearly the speed of light to create Miniature Big Bangs producing Micro Black Holes, Strangelets and other potentially cataclysmic phenomena.
Particle physicists have run out of ideas and are at a dead end forcing them to take reckless chances with more and more powerful and costly machines to create new and never-seen-before, unstable and unknown matter while Astrophysicists, on the other hand, are advancing science and knowledge on a daily basis making new discoveries in these same areas by observing the universe, not experimenting with it and with your life.
The LHC is a dangerous gamble as CERN physicist Alvaro De Rújula in the BBC LHC documentary, 'The Six Billion Dollar Experiment', incredibly admits quote, "Will we find the Higgs particle at the LHC? That, of course, is the question. And the answer is, science is what we do when we don't know what we're doing." And CERN spokesmodel Brian Cox follows with this stunning quote, "the LHC is certainly, by far, the biggest jump into the unknown."
The CERN-LHC website Mainpage itself states: "There are many theories as to what will result from these collisions,..." Again, this is because they truly don't know what's going to happen. They are experimenting with forces they don't understand to obtain results they can't comprehend. If you think like most people do that 'They must know what they're doing' you could not be more wrong. Some people think similarly about medical Dr.s but consider this by way of comparison and example from JAMA: "A recent Institute of Medicine report quoted rates estimating that medical errors kill between 44,000 and 98,000 people a year in US hospitals." The second part of the CERN quote reads "...but what's for sure is that a brave new world of physics will emerge from the new accelerator,..." A molecularly changed or Black Hole consumed Lifeless World? The end of the quote reads "...as knowledge in particle physics goes on to describe the workings of the Universe." These experiments to date have so far produced infinitely more questions than answers but there isn't a particle physicist alive who wouldn't gladly trade his life to glimpse the "God particle", and sacrifice the rest of us with him. Reason and common sense will tell you that the risks far outweigh any potential(as CERN physicists themselves say) benefits.
This quote from National Geographic exactly sums this "science" up: "That's the essence of experimental particle physics: You smash stuff together and see what other stuff comes out."

I wonder the same. He's been doing all of these jokes for at least 8 years now (they can all be found in his 2000 Comedy Central Presents), with only minor modifications and additions.

"I would leave, but the car works" Gold

I seriously doubt the title on the video of 'bootlegged' is true, looks pretty professional to me.

I do enjoy his stuff. I was reticent to when I first saw his stuff as he does a lot of low brow kinda stuff... lowest common denominator and all... but I can't help but crack up at his various voices...

Although, I had seen pretty much everything in this in previous performances, so I don't know whether he's run out of ideas or not these days.

They're making your favorite movie into a broadway play!

In reply to this comment by my15minutes:
favorite quote from the film:

"The first man to raise a fist, is the man who's run out of ideas."

i'll sift that too, as soon as i can find a clip. it's a great scene.

Malcolm MacDowall was flawless.
David Warner did what he does best. Evil.
and i'm still puppy-eyed for Mary Steenburgen.
rent or own it today.

How to strip Family Guy of it's humor: No flashbacks

Arsenault185 says...

The Simpsons are heading on 20 years, and just now starting to lose their comedic value. (thats right I said it. They need to stop. Its just after that long you run out of ideas. Believe me I love the show. And thats why I want them to end sooner than later.) Anyways, Family guy is on its what? 6th year? I love this show as well, but they need to get some better writers. Watching Stewie sit there for 3 minutes with different variations of the word "mother" would have been fine if it was the first time they pushed the "comedy rule of three", but it just got old.

Also the rants they are doing now, which seem to be occurring more and more frequently (i.e. Stewie talking to Brian about his book, stutter starting his words) yeah. Not funny. Family guy is fast losing it, and that would be a shame. It seems like they just have a lot of time fillers now.
