Picard & Riker being cooler than everything
Riker always looks as if he has forgotten to take the coat hanger out..
Ode to the Picard Maneuver
lol - wow, I never noticed he did it so much, and that he was the only one who did it.
Edit: OK, Riker did it a few times as well, but not as much.
Teen in Prison for Years Without Being Convicted of Crime
Ahh cheers for the correction, also I notice on their (DOC) website that the Riker's Jail prison population has been going down steadily for the last decade or so, so if there isn't a directive to fill the jail like with prison's, I wonder what exactly led to this. It sounds like he went through hell in there, I don't think I would have made it through something like that.
Seeing as Rikers is a jail and not a prison, is owned and governed by the New York department of corrections, and is only there to house short term sentences and people awaiting trial who were not given, or could not afford bail. This is not a case of greed, as it costs the state more to house this person. This is a question of why someone would have to wait three years for the state to decide if it was going to trial on a case. This is stupid on two levels, it means that someone who should have never seen the inside of this jail spent three years there, but also that someone who should go to jail may have made bail and be spending years free waiting for a court date.

Star Trek: Deshaked
Patrick Stewart's heart clearly isn't in it. Riker is giving it his all.
Riker sits down
Yes but Frakes is 6 foot fucking 4. The whole "Riker Lean" came about because he towers over everyone. Average things are like toys for ants to a man that size!
ok, the one at 0:45 and the last one are just showing off. those chairs looked pretty average to me!

Boxer Knocked Out After Decision
This was a 9/11 charity event to benefit NYPD and NYFD survivors.
"Grant suffered a temporarily dislocated jaw and a lacerated tongue that required 26 stitches. Butler was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Butler was later convicted and served four months at Riker's Island detention facility." -WP
Prelude to a Sift (Blog Entry by dag)
Very much digging the Will Riker look in the second photo.
Disposable People
Guess we're all supposed to feel bad about slavery, and if the cues weren't subtle enough, it has to be WHOOPIE! explaining it to Picard instead of, say, Riker.
Slavery was a worldwide enterprise for thousands of years. With the possible exception of Eskimos, there is not a race on the planet that hasn't been enlaved (or been the enslavers). Jews, Egyptians, Sumerians, Babylonians, Indians, Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Japanese, English, Irish, all have been slaves.
It's only a certain party of victimhood portraying American Blacks as the only people who were ever slaves.
Who was the best Star Trek Captain? (User Poll by gorgonheap)
Ok, to address the Chris Pine issue. Lets consider that that first of all they are both portraying the same character. Second, that all of the Star Trek time continuity was utterly decimated, leaving it more then likely that people who had a family history in starfleet (i.e. Tom Paris, Kathryn Janeway, Will Riker, Geordi Laforge, etc.) are now at least bastard children or have had their DNA completely obliterated by Nero. (Not to include all the other continuity problems that the crap spin off Enterprise introduced.) Third, he's only done one movie, all the others, including Luke have done multiple movies or a series. Until the sequel with Chris Pine comes out I don't really see him as having a command until it's been more then 24 hours. Fourth, He was appointed by the previous captain, and considering his incredibly brief Starfleet training I'd have a hard time believing any Admiral in thier right mind would continue to let him remain in command of what is now Starfeets only ship. Fifth, I still haven't forgiven J.J. Abrams for the ending of Lost or the hour of my life that I'll never get back after Cloverfield.
