Fox & Friends Hatchet Job Reporting On OWS Protesting Mom

Sagemind says...

Fox ignores the real news to make news where there isn't any. Why are they smearing this young woman? These reporters are abysmal and make me nauseous. This low at it's lowest.

...And those that don't support, don't yet understand the issues. Not everyone watches online news clips in order to see what is happening, some people get their news from jerks like these and some don't watch news at all.

Greek Public Debt Is Illegal, As Greek People Repudiate Debt

A few remarks:
Socialists are extreme-right in Europe. What? Where's that guy from? Kansas? He sure knows a lot about Europe I can tell.
"Fascists blah blah Colonels blah" --> In real life, an elected government.
"Nothing happens" when you repudiate your debt. Yeah right. On that topic: what Netrunner said.
The big difference with Iceland: this is not the first bailout for Greece, and some of that EU money comes from Central European countries. Countries that started lower than Greece when the Soviet bloc fell, countries that are for some still poorer than Greece, and countries that did not cheat and cook the books like Greece did.
So if the shit goes down, who do you think should pay, Greece, or smaller, poorer countries who played by the rules?
On a side-note: notice how "The Real news" have quickly become the shadow of their former selves. These guys used to send people across the globe, now they're reduced to having the CEO himself introduce the "topic" using "quotes" for words he "doesn't like" while interviewing Joe No-one, like a poor man's leftist Fox News.

If you look at history you'll see that countries have gone bankrupt hundreds of times. Some countries themselves over 20 times. Are any of those countries a smoldering ruin? Nope, life marches on. As for the rest of the shit you said...I don't care.

Fox News: Cancer Patient 'Cured By God's Voice'

Sagemind says...

This station should be held negligent for advertising this kind of crap!
Yep, I think some "bone material has been eroded from his skull" - along with some gray matter!

Of course, it's great that this man survived - That's great, he seems really happy and life has turned around for him - Lucky for him.

But for a news show to pick this up and broadcast it like his beliefs are fact, when the proof behind his off-base-speculations can neither be authenticated, endorsed or proven in any way and are in fact purely fictitious and hopeful thinking is crazy.

This is fodder for a talk-show but not a news show which needs to hold itself to higher standards. - But what I am saying, This is FOX news, which is not a "News" station at all, but a propaganda machine.
The crime here, as always is that FOX markets itself as real News and deceives the public on almost any issue it's owners want to exploit for their own political gains.

Keep the people religious and stupid - then they are easier to control.

Sarah Palin: Paul Revere Warned the British

marbles says...

To be fair, she didn't intend on saying Revere warned the British.

Go back and listen:
"He who, warned uh, tha, [pause] the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms..."

Notice the "they" and the "our". Unless you believe she meant he warned the British that the British were going to be taking away our arms. And that doesn't follow logical semantics.

It's a failure of articulation, nothing more.

I think she tried taking the conventional expression "The British are coming" and turn it into a pandering appeal to those concerned with gun confiscation. She probably was trying to say "that the British" instead of "the British that". Also it seems she was trying to think of a word to call the colonists that would pander more to her fans.

But who really cares. Why does Think progress care? Why does anyone care? It's immature and petty. The corporate owned news media is just playing you fools hyping "entertainment" while glossing over and completely ignoring real news.

Anthony Weiner Mocks GOP for NPR Defund Bill

ldeadeyesl says...

Yeah Propaganda Radio.... Way to figure out what they have really been up to over there at NPR. Which right wing nut told you that, it's hard to keep track of who is spewing what now. Which one still has credibility to the stupid American masses. Are Glen and Rush still doing well after laughing at the 20,000 Japanese dead, then again I bet their listeners where hooting when they did that. I have to ask you quantum because your the only moron I'm in touch with on a daily basis.

I bet this is a play to slowly dissolve any real news coverage/reporting. At least there is the BBC and Al-Jazeera. American news is already the biggest joke in the world, and this is just making it worse.

Hard-hitting agreement, on 'Concurrence Round Table'

bamdrew says...

Its an absurd-ist parody mocking the typical way that "expert" commentators with conflicting opinions are chosen to present the pros and cons on political news shows, and never agree on any point by the end (think Bill O'Reilly). In this show they've kept the aggression, but highlight how they are in total agreement on one-another's remarks; the absurdity of this acts as social commentary on how odd the real news shows are (and what attracts viewer-ship to one news show over another).

BREAKING NEWS - Arnie's back! (Actionpack Talk Post)

Cruel, unusual punishment of WikiLeaker, Bradley Manning

RFlagg says...

Nobody said you have to be ashamed of your country. You just have to respect the Constitution, which gives certain rights if you are awaiting trial or not, and most of those rights don't go away if you are guilty, the privileges yes, the rights no. How is asking him to be treated with the respect the Constitution demands being unpatriotic? If anything, it is the very definition of patriotic, sticking up for the Constitution even when others think it should be ignored. All people are asking for here is that the government be transparent about their treatment of him to be sure his rights granted by the Constitution and International law are being protected.
It is those here who call for Julian Assange to be sent here for trail that could be called unpatriotic. He did the job the media is supposed to do, and is the very reason the freedom of the press clause exists in the 1st Amendment: to act as a check and balance against government corruption and violation of international laws and treaties.
And when the public knows about such treatment in other countries, then people here complain as well. Perhaps not the people you listen to, or the major media outlets, but the Real News, Democracy Now and other independent non-corporate, pro-humanitarian media do.
If he is guilty then yes, he should spend his life in jail, nobody would argue that, but he should be treated humanely with his full Constitutional and International rights before and after said convection.
