Heh, I find it pretty common that the most popular role of an actor or comedian is rarely the favorite of their biggest fans. That said, I agree. Being in the US means my introduction to him was Mr. Bean, as I got older and had the chance to experience some of his other work, I came to enjoy his other work much more. His stage performances are hilarious, and yes Blackadder was amazing.

I HATE Mr Bean. It's Atkinson's worst role, which is a shame because Atkinson is brilliant.

Blackadder is one of my favourite characters, but even the other stage bits are way funnier than Bean.

Mr.Bean is the best!

I hear that British people don't find Mr. Bean all that funny. Of course, that's probably coming from a single British guy speaking for the entire population, but it makes me wonder how many Brits actually do enjoy Mr. Bean.

To be perfectly honest, the painting didn't have all that much value to begin with. I know it's weird and somewhat controversial, but by screwing up a decently painted Jesus portrait, it caught our attention and now resides in the haven of the collective consciousness. If it wasn't messed up by Mrs. Bean here, we'd not give it a second glance, let alone know that this art existed in the first place.
