He was foolish to flee the forklift.

That whole warehouse setup would have Quality Assurance and Procedures staff spinning in their grave... er, if they were dead.

Not so much a forklifting accident as a terrible engineering lapse. Unless that driver floored the gas on the forklift, there's no way that entire shelf should have come down based on that tiny tap. Way too much load on those shelves, and way too narrow a driving lane for forklifted loads.

looks like intentional to me. first he raises the forklift for no apparent reason, then -after- successfully shutting the water off he continues to break off the head. pink slip.

A friend of mine did this exact thing last week. He hit the sprinkler with a forklift and flooded the warehouse.

It's actually a pallet jack, not a forklift, but good find nonetheless

Funny, I was very bored at the warehouse I work at yesterday and took a paper airplane about 30 feet up in a forklift to see how far it would go. Mine flew about 70 feet.

ever go into a warehouse store and wonder how those columns and display racks and merchandise get all bent and crushed? - forklift drivers - most unsafe workers of any occupation.

I would hesitate to call this guy a moron or idiot. I get put on forklift duty at work some days and after a few hours of back and forth inherent with loading trucks, you get a little zoned out and can make simple mistakes that can lead to bad consequences. Has nothing to do with IQ really, just mind-numbing repetition.
